An Iksar's Guide To Love and Friendship Through Murder

From Project 1999 Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

In Progress

Hello, and welcome to an Iksar's guide to love and friendship through murder. Well, not entirely through murder...just mostly through murder, for murder is the Iksar way.

Any numbers given are not exact due to class modifiers, but do give a ballpark figure for when you will hit dubious or apprehensive with that particular faction.

This guide has a lot of factions on it, but not all can be raised by Iksar and certainly not all at once. If you would like a second place to bank, I recommend raising North Freeport paladin faction and learning how to use the tunnels. (For monks, FP monk faction is raised at the same time as NFP, and you can also use the tunnels to reach the monk guild.) If you want to cross Highpass Hold safely without invis, you also need to raise HPH guard faction.

If you'd prefer to stay in Kunark but want to bank in more than one city, Firiona Vie is much easier to raise than the OT outpost.

Contents

Starting Out

It's common knowledge that Iksar are naturally KoS to everyone outside of their home city of Cabilis. The question for those determined to faction their way to peace is this: how KoS?

The answer is complex. Beta Neutral faction is indifferent to Iksar starting out, for example, while residents in Firiona Vie take far more convincing than residents in Antonica that Iksar are okay. For Iksar, starting faction will also change based on class (since your race and deity remain the same no matter what). Starting faction for an Iksar monk will look like the following:

  • Kunark Outposts: Close to max KoS
  • Good factions: KoS, but relatively close to threatening (between 50 to 100 hits)
  • Evil factions: Bottom of threatening
  • Neutral factions: Neutral

So any given Iksar monk will start out scowls with Freeport Paladins and threatening with Freeport Militia, scowls with halflings and threatening with dark elves, etc.

Note: You will start out KoS to frogloks in Guk.

Friendly Vendors

Friendly vendors start out indifferent to Iksar.

Antonica

  • Gypsies (Beta Neutral)
  • Druid ring vendors (but NOT druids) (Beta Neutral)
  • Basil the Skinner, Dran Hieth in Firiona Vie (there are probably more, will need to check)
  • The Shady Swashbuckler in EC tunnel
  • Mugu (large banded armor molds) and various other Ogre merchants in Feerrott (Oggok Residents) (not Innkeeps)
  • Katha Firespinner in EC by the WC zoneline
  • Toxdil by the secret entrance to the WFP tunnels in the newbie yard (north side)
  • Bloodsabers
  • Darfumpel Zirubbel (Rathe Mtns)

Antonica

Freeport

Militia

  • Faction name: Freeport Militia
  • Applies to: All WFP and EFP guards, Sir Lucan D'Lere

Once you are non-KoS (indifferent) to Highpass Hold guards (see relevant section), turn in gnoll scalps by the hundreds to Captain Orben (Gnoll Scalp Collecting) or orc scalps to Captain Ashlan (Orc Scalp Collecting).

If you have fixed Erudin faction, you can do the Inert Potion Quest (turn in to fake Slansin).

Or if you don't mind not banking in Freeport for a little while, you can kill NFP guards until you're dubious with Militia and then repair paladin faction by killing more orcs.

Freeport Paladins

  • Faction name: Knights of Truth
  • Applies to: All NFP guards ('Sir Soandso'), paladin guild

Kill approx. 600 Deathfist orcs in WC and EC.

Or kill Sir Lucan D'Lere (massively lowers Militia faction).

Freeport Warriors

  • Faction name: Steel Warriors
  • Applies to: Warrior guilds in both Qeynos and Freeport

You can kill the various dark elf ambassadors running around, but it's probably easier to fix this by tying it in with your Halas faction and doing Gnoll Bounty.

Freeport Clerics

  • Faction name: Priests of Marr
  • Applies to: Clerics in the cleric guild in NFP

Once you hit amiable with NFP paladins, hand bottles of milk to Mojax Hikspin in WC (drops militia and dismal rage).

Freeport Monks

  • Faction name: Ashen Order
  • Applies to: Monks in the monk guild in WFP

Kill approx. 600 Deathfist orcs in WC and EC.

Freeport Casters

  • Faction name: Academy of Arcane Scientists
  • Applies to: Casters in Freeport's caster guild, Ran Flamespinner in Highpass Keep

Do this before working on Freeport Militia, because this gives negative hits for Opal Darkbriar (Only Opal Darkbriar is on this faction) and Freeport Militia (smaller than the caster guild hits).

Best done with sneak or wolf form. Purchase several stacks of rat ears in EC from Katha Firespinner and travel to Qeynos Hills. Thusly disguised so that Rephas does not attack you, turn in the rat ears until he is no longer KoS. Once he's happy with you, the caster guild is happy with you.

Freeport Rogues

  • Faction name: Coalition of Tradefolk Ill
  • Applies to: Freeport Rogues, various Freeport merchants, Lendel Deeppockets (halfling rogue GM)

You start out dubious to these guys, enabling you to do the Note for Rebby quest to raise it and other factions if you'd like. (Involves crossing the paths of Freeport Militia.) It's in your vested interests to keep this faction up if you want to use the Freeport tunnels.

Freeport Evil Sewer Dwellers

  • Faction name: Opal Dark Briar
  • Applies to: Opal Darkbriar in EFP, and I suppose kind of also Opal Darkbriar in the WFP caster guild.

Kill Rephas (lowers FP casters and NFP paladins).

This one is confusing. You are probably better off just ignoring it and avoiding the evil version of Opal Darkbriar. She's the only one on this faction.

  • Faction name: Dismal Rage
  • Applies to: The evil guildmasters living in the Freeport tunnels (necros, evil wizards, shadowknights, evil clerics, etc)

Not sure what starting faction with Dismal Rage is (iksar monks start at dubious, but should take care moving through these areas in the tunnels as there may be more than one faction down there), but if you are dubious, you can do the bone chips portion of Assist the Great Xelha.

Antonican Bards

  • Faction name: League of Antonican Bards
  • Applies to: All bards on Antonica, and all the bards who give out mail delivery quests.

Kill anything in Mistmoore.

For kicks, you can make Fabian sing for you and give you faction in the tavern by handing him 2gp (lowers ring of scale and mistmoore), but killing in Mistmoore is more lucrative.

Coalition of Tradesfolk (banker)

Note for Rebby is one of the best ways to raise this.

Neriak

Dark elf faction is a messy business. The king and queen despise each other, the various guilds don't like each other, and as a group, none of them want anything to do with you.

Dark Elf Warriors (Indigo Brotherhood)

They are reluctant allies with Crushbone orcs and faction enemies with wood elves (although they hate everyone), so any killing in CB to make friends with elves is a no go if you want to preserve your standing with them. Best raised by killing wood elf guards in Kelethin.

Dark Elf Necros and Shadowknights

  • Faction name: The Dead
  • Applies to: Dark elves in the necro and shadowknight guilds as well as their ghoul guards, + 1 NPC pather by bank.

Kill Dragoon Szorn in Lesser Faydark (drops Indigo Brotherhood), or kill the two gnomes in the houses by Steamfont Mountains in lfay.

You will want to raise this if you plan to use Neriak as a base because an NPC on this faction paths by the bank.

Dark Elf Rogues

They are opposed to Barbarian rogues and a number of other factions, so raising this one might be tough if you're also raising conflicting factions. The only quest that's really any good is Moss Snakes.

Dark Elf Clerics

  • Faction name: Priests of Innoruuk
  • Applies to: Patrolling guards by cleric guild in Third Gate (near the zoneline to Commons), clerics in cleric guild

This can be done by anyone with skeleton form or monks with sneak.

Find Saxarivza Zaxun in Grobb and tell her 'I am devoted to Innoruuk' to get a note. Deliver the note to Perrir Zexus in the Neriak cleric guild for a massive faction hit. (drops high elf clerics, priests of life, and priests of marr)

Dark Elf Guards (Outer)

Bottle of Red Wine will raise this faction.

Or kill halfling deputies.

Dark Elf Guards (Inner)

  • Faction name: Dreadguard Inner
  • Applies to: Guards inside Neriak, generally Foreign Quarter (each guild has guards on their own faction)

Bottle of Red Wine will raise this faction.

Dark Elf Merchants (banker)

  • Faction name: Dark Bargainers
  • Applies to: Dark elf merchants in Neriak, SRo

Bottle of Red Wine will raise this faction. You should be at apprehensive at least before trying this one. (Currently unsure what you start at with these guys for Iksar.)

Dark Elf Queen

Fire Beetle Eyes will raise this faction. (lowers King, high elf casters, gnome casters)

Dark Elf King

  • Faction name: King Naythox Thex
  • Applies to: I have no idea, the king doesn't seem to exist

Kill Kizdean Gix in WC. Lowers Queen's faction.

Or do Initiate Symbol of Innoruuk if you don't have problems with dark elf clerics. (?)

Rivervale Area

Halfling Clerics

  • Faction name: Priests of Mischief
  • Applies to: Clerics in the cleric guild by the zoneline to Kithicor forest in Rivervale

I'm not sure this is possible for Iksar, unless wolf form can bring you up to amiable for Cleric Supplies. This is unfortunate since they will waste you if they spot you coming in from Kithicor. I have been told wolf form works for monks, though. This will not be the case for all classes.

Halfling Guards

Kill Deathfist orcs in WC and EC or kill pickclaw goblins in Highpass Keep.

Halfling Rogues

  • Faction name: DeepPockets
  • Applies to: NPCs in Fool's Gold tavern, Gunrich in Misty Thicket

Bandages for Honeybugger will raise this faction. (Lowers Freeport Rogue faction, so watch out if you want to keep using the Freeport tunnels!)

Halfling Druids

  • Faction name: Storm Reapers
  • Applies to: All druids in Rivervale, Ella Foodcrafter in Misty Thicket (druid/ranger epic)

Kill goblins in Runnyeye, Mooto in Misty Thicket, or certain goblins in Butcherblock Mountains.

Halfling Merchants (banker)

Bandages for Honeybugger will raise this faction. (Lowers Freeport Rogue faction, so watch out if you want to keep using the Freeport tunnels!)

Once non-KoS with halfling druids and guards (Storm Reapers and Guardians of the Vale), you can also do Deputy Tagil's Debt or Jillin's Stew (lowers Unkempt Druids).

The Mayor

  • Faction name: Mayor Gubbin
  • Applies to: Mayor Gubbin and friends.

Bixies

Technically everyone starts out dubious to Bixies, but if you ever feel like raising that, kill Mooto (random spawn at the goblin camps by Runnyeye entrance in Misty Thicket).

Ogres (Feerrott)

Ogres and Kazon Stormhammer really don't like each other. Being friends with both would be pretty difficult. The merchants out in Feerrott tend to be indifferent.

Ogre Warriors

Kill dwarven guards in Kaladim to raise this faction.

Ogre Guards

Ogre Shadowknights

Kill Corflunk in Butcherblock Mountains. (drops Clurg and ogre warriors)

Kill Guard Shiznak in Rathe Mountains. (drops troll bashers and troll shadowknights)

Kill Boog Mudtoe in OOT. (drops Clurg and ogre warriors)

Ogre Shamen

I am not certain this is possible for Iksar.

Merchants

  • Faction name: Oggok Residents

No faction work needed, these guys start out indifferent to Iksar.

Clurg

Some bartender in Oggok and all his alcoholic friends are on this faction. Kill superdorf King Kazon Stormhammer for this one, if you're really that invested in the opinion of some ogre in Oggok who serves sludge for tips.

Trolls (Innothule)

Troll Shadowknights

Kill Lynuga in Innothule. These guys are allied with Da Bashers.

Troll Warriors

  • Faction name: Da Bashers
  • Applies to: Generally anyone with the title of Basher.

Kill Lynuga in Innothule. When relating your tale of heroic slaughter to Da Bashers, be sure to use small words and bad grammar.

Troll Shamen

I don't believe there's a way to raise this one for Iksar.

Troll Has-beens

Most modern self-respecting trolls hate these guys, so to raise it, just kill modern self-respecting trolls (aka Bashers).

Highpass Area

Highpass Hold Guards

  • Faction name: Highpass Guards
  • Applies to: All guards in Highpass Hold and Highpass Keep

Kill approx. 600 orcs or gnolls in Highpass Hold, hold onto scalps.

Highpass Hold Merchants (banker)

Once you are non-KoS (indifferent) to Highpass Hold guards (see relevant section), turn in gnoll scalps by the hundreds to Captain Orben (Gnoll Scalp Collecting) or orc scalps to Captain Ashlan (Orc Scalp Collecting).

Karanas

  • Faction name: Karana Residents
  • Applies to: Everyone living in the Karanas who isn't a Qeynos guard, druid, or ranger, includes Sir Morgan and his squire; also includes the barbarians in EK, but NOT the ones in WK near QH who are on Halas factions

Kill a bandit, a raider, and/or a highwayman in the Karanas. Lowers faction with the bandits, understandably. (You can raise bandit faction by killing gnolls.)

Or kill Highpass gnolls.

Qeynos

Good Qeynos Guards

Kill gnolls in Blackburrow, or kill bandits in the Karanas. Or both!

Evil Qeynos Guards

Once you are non-KoS (indifferent) to Highpass Hold guards (see relevant section), turn in gnoll scalps by the hundreds to Captain Orben (Gnoll Scalp Collecting) or orc scalps to Captain Ashlan (Orc Scalp Collecting).

You can give 5gp to Guard Shilster in NK as long as he's non-KoS to you (lowers good Qeynos guards, easily repaired by gnoll genocide).

Qeynos Warriors

  • Faction name: Steel Warriors
  • Applies to: Warrior guilds in both Qeynos and Freeport

You can kill the various dark elf ambassadors running around, but it's probably easier to fix this by tying it in with your Halas faction and doing Gnoll Bounty.

Bloodsabers

This is another cult of Bertoxxulous that lives down in the Qeynos sewers. Iksar start off indifferent to this faction.

To raise it, kill anything remotely related to Rodcet Nife (the various priests of life, Lashun Novashine, koalindl fish, etc).

Qeynos Paladins

Bandit Sashes will raise this faction but lowers Bloodsabers faction. (Use wolf form)

Or donate lots and lots of money to Lashun Novashine (wolf form).

Qeynos Clerics

Bandit Sashes will raise this faction but lowers Bloodsabers faction. (Use wolf form)

Or donate lots and lots of money to Lashun Novashine (wolf form).

Qeynos Casters

Do Bat Fur Quest (misnomer, requires rat whiskers, bat furs, and fire beetle eyes). Use wolf form. (?)

Or do Blank Scrolls (with wolf form - you will need the druid to follow you through multiple zones multiple times.)

Do Unser's Call (with wolf form). All three items are vendor-purchaseable. Rat Whiskers are bought in Kithicor Forest (Jeena Firechaser - Kithicor Residents, kill orcs in highpass), Snake Scales from EC (Pardor the Blessed), and bat wings from Katha Firespinner (neutral)

Qeynos Rogues

Safest way is to kill bandits and raiders in the Karanas. (Lowers bandit faction)

Qeynos Monks

Kill gnolls in Blackburrow.

Qeynos Citizens

  • Faction name: QeynosCitizen
  • Applies to: Qeynos beggars, drowned citizens in Freeport tunnels, various others, innkeepers in the Karanas

Maybe Snake Fang Necklace Quest? Might need wolf form to do this one.

Qeynos Banker and Guards

  • Faction name: Banker
  • Applies to: Qeynos bankers and the two barbarian guards

Everyone starts out indifferent to this faction. (This faction may not be on p99 at the moment, although I believe it should be.)

Surefall Glade (Rangers and Druids)

Rangers

  • Faction name: Protectors of Pine
  • Applies to: Ranger NPCs on Antonica, notably Holly Windstalker

(After reaching non-KoS with Surefall druids) Use an alt or friend to spawn and kill Raffel Minnmorn repeatedly (spawn by hailing Gash Flockwalker) (Clarification: the alt or friend will kill Raffel for you if you want to preserve QRG protected animal faction - you just need to loot). Collect the stackable black wood chips he drops and turn them in to Gerael Woodone. Lowers Unkempt Druids.

Druids

  • Faction name: Jaggedpine Treefolk
  • Applies to: Druid NPCs around druid rings, notably Ceel Moonwhisper, Briana Treewhisper, Sil Silverstar

Kill gnolls in Blackburrow.

Unkempt Druids

  • Faction name: Unkempt Druids
  • Applies to: unkempt preserver (Rathe Mtns), others

These guys are nuts. Raise it by killing treants, symbols of nature, or various enemy druids and rangers. (Lowers regular druid and QRG protected animal factions.)

Note that despite their stated mission, the Unkempt and QRG protected animal factions are not necessarily related. My hypothesis is that, like PETA and nature, animals of Norrath are trapped in an abusive relationship with unkempt druids.

Surefall Animals

  • Faction name: QRG Protected Animals
  • Applies to: Mammoth, bears and wolves in Surefall Glade and Qeynos Hills (only killing certain named will lower this faction)

(After reaching non-KoS with Surefall druids) Use an alt or friend to spawn and kill Raffel Minnmorn repeatedly (spawn by hailing Gash Flockwalker). Collect the stackable black wood chips he drops and turn them in to Gerael Woodone. Lowers Unkempt Druids.

(Clarification: Killing Raffel Minnmorn lowers Unkempt Druids AND QRG Protected Animals, but turning the black wood chips in raises QRG Protected Animals while lowering Unkempt Druids further.)

Halas

Beware! Strange faction conflicts ahead! You also are unable to use wolf form to turn in items if you're KoS. Halas hates real wolves despite having several of them as pets. Go figure.

Check out the Halas Faction Guide for an exact how-to. This will take a very, very long time.

Barbarian Rogues (banker)

Quests for warriors and merchants tend to lower this faction and vice versa, so take care.

Kill Frostbite in WK (lowers all other Halas factions and human warrior faction). Raise the other factions later.

Barbarian Shamen

Ice Goblin Necklaces (all positive hits), turned in to warrior GM, so raise warriors first.

Barbarian Warriors

Sneak into the city with many polar bear skins (easily gotten from outside Halas) and do Cindl's Polar Bear Collection until you can do Gnoll Bounty (gnoll fangs). (Cindl is a merchant and therefore always dubious, which is the minimum for the polar bear skin quest.)

You can also kill Giz Dinree in EFP until you are non-KoS with warriors and then do gnoll fang turn-ins.

Barbarian Merchants

You can raise this one with Ice Goblin Necklaces, Gnoll Bounty, and later on Lion Meat Shipment.

Faydwer

Gnomes

Gnome Guards (Warriors)

  • Faction name: Gem Choppers
  • Applies to: Watchmen who guard Ak'Anon, others

Kill kobolds near the entrance of Ak'Anon.

Or kill Khrix Fritchoff on the second floor of the mansion in Unrest. (lowers gnome necros)

Later you can give vasty deep ales to Shondo Billin in Erudin Palace's prison (in the Erudin City Office) for Shondo and the Tonic. (Use sneak or kill minos first, Shondo is on Gem Choppers faction). (Raise Erudin faction first, he is past a lot of guards)

Gnome Casters

Kill Khrix Fritchoff on the second floor of the mansion in Unrest. (lowers gnome necros)

Gnome Clerics and Rogues

Kill Khrix Fritchoff on the second floor of the mansion in Unrest. (lowers gnome necros)

Gnome Merchants

Once you reach dubious with Gem Choppers (the guards/warriors), do Rusted Black Boxes (lowers faction with gnome necros). Involves killing defective clockworks in Steamfont Mountains.

Or give vasty deep ales to Shondo Billin in Erudin Palace's prison (in the Erudin City Office) for Shondo and the Tonic. (Use sneak or kill minos first, Shondo is on Gem Choppers faction). (Raise Erudin faction first, he is past a lot of guards)

Gnome Necros

There's no real reason to make peace with this particular extra-smelly set of gnomes, but if you do, you just need to kill a lot of the other gnomes because they all hate Dark Reflection and Dark Reflection hates them (although newbie gnome necros start out dubious just so they can get out of the city).

Now, if you want to have your beetle bake and eat it too, here's what you do: First, fix your Erudin faction. Then head down into the depths of the palace, where you'll find a little guy named Shondo Billin. Kill him a bunch. Then head to Steamfont mountains and kill minotaur slavers to fix the two factions Shondo's death lowers.

King of Gnomes (clockwork guards)

Kill minotaur slavers in Steamfont Mountains.

Wood Elves

Treetown Guards

Kill approx. 600 Crushbone orcs OR 600 goblins in Butcherblock Mountains. (The orcs are more plentiful but lower your Indigo Brotherhood faction.)

Treetown Merchants (banker)

After hitting amiable with Emerald Warriors, do Emerald Warriors' Items or Shark Meat Quest.

(To do the shark meat quest, it's best to travel to Erudin. This means you should do this section after Qeynos and good Erudites, but before evil Erudites, because some of the sharks give faction hits to Heretics (a diseased shark and a young shark).)

Treetown Druids

Do the Muffin for Pandos quest. (Use wolf form.)

Treetown Rogues

These guys may or may not be indifferent to all. (Need to confirm in-game)

Treetown Rangers

Kill Crushbone orcs.

Treetown Bards

  • Faction name: Songweavers
  • Applies to: All bards in bard guild save for Jakum Webdancer and Idia (Antonican Bards)

If you have wolf form on hand and want to raise this one, try Sylia Windlehands' Spiderling Silks quest.

High Elves

High Elf Casters

Free the high elf slaves in Crushbone (slave keys 20 and 21).

Or kill important NPCs in Neriak.

Once non-KoS, do Bat Wings to raise it further.

High Elf Paladins

Bone Chips Felwithe (with wolf form) will raise this faction.

High Elf Clerics

Bone Chips Felwithe (with wolf form) will raise this faction.

High Elf Merchants (banker)

Free the wood elf slaves in Crushbone (slave keys 18 and 19).

Or do Regren's Shark Meat Quest (also raises Kelethin Merchants).

King of the High Elves

Kill anything in Mistmoore.

Dwarves

Dorf Warriors

Kill Crushbone orcs OR kill goblins and aqua goblins in Butcherblock Mountains.

Dorf Rogues

Kill dwarven bandits in Butcherblock Mountains. (#12 on the map for BB - Peg Leg spawns a non-KoS mob for the Shaman epic quest upon death.)

(Killing clockworks in SolA lowers this faction.)

Dorf Clerics

Best way to raise this is with the Kaladim Bone Chip Quest after becoming non-KoS with dorf pallies.

Dorf Paladins

Turn in Crushbone belts to Canloe Nusback for Crushbone Belts quest after reaching dubious (?) with warriors.

(Lowers Ogre Warrior faction (Craknek Warriors))

There is no way for Iksar to raise Paladins of Underfoot.

King of Dwarves

Bone Chips Kaladim will raise this faction.

Odus

Good Erudites

Do this before doing Paineel faction.

Guilds

  • Deepwater Knights (Prexus): Kill heretics in Paineel or the two in Toxxulia, Hyakallen (LS), or kill the diseased shark and young sharks in the harbor while doing the shark meat quest for Kelethin.
  • Crimson Hands: Kill Elial Brook, Aglthin Dasmore, Hyakallen (LS), and Paineel Guards.
  • Gate Callers: Kill Elial Brook, Aglthin Dasmore, Hyakallen (LS), and Paineel Guards.
  • Craftkeepers: Kill Elial Brook, Aglthin Dasmore, Hyakallen (LS), and Paineel Guards.
  • Peace Keepers (Quellious): Impossible for Iksar.

Other

  • High Guard of Erudin: Kill kobolds in The Warrens.
  • High Council of Erudin: Ice Goblin Beads (after raising Crimson Hands)
  • Merchants of Erudin: After becoming amiable with Faydarks Champions (wood elf rangers), find Jyle Windshot in WFP and hand him small lanterns over and over again to get stackable, non-lore wooden shards (part of the Trueshot bow quest). Once you get a lot of these, go to Toxxulia and hand them in to Emil Parsini. Raises merchants, high council, and high guard.

Evil Erudites

  • Faction name: Heretics
  • Applies to: All of Paineel

Kill kobolds in The Warrens. You'll probably be max-KoS at this point, so get ready to kill more than a thousand.

Kunark

Overthere Outpost

  • Faction name: Venril Sathir
  • Applies to: Everyone in the evil outpost in The Overthere.

Do Protect the Shipyard by killing sarnak berzerkers and handing in their war braids 4 at a time. Good luck figuring out how to do this on your own. (Note: No one on Kunark likes wolf form.)

Or kill dragons in Veeshan's Peak.

Firiona Vie

  • Faction name: FirionaVie (referred to incorrectly as Inhabitants of Firiona Vie on this wiki)
  • Applies to: Majority of residents in the Firiona Vie outpost, guards, pilgrims, and Firiona drixies.
  • Exceptions: The barbarian shamen in the guild hall on the docks (Halas faction), Shieldbearer Relios (High elf faction), Shieldbearer Beurd (High elf faction), Vrionele (?), Tracker Azeal's patrolling form (indifferent to all)

Kill approx. 1,000 goblins in the goblin fort in Warsliks Woods or at #9 in Lake of Ill Omen. (This will get you barely to dubious.)

The Great Iksar City

You're an Iksar, right? You shouldn't need this faction. For everyone else, this is a very, very difficult set of factions to raise, for Iksar return your homeland's hate tenfold because a) Cazic-Thule worshipers, and b) Iksar are naturally stronger in all aspects, including hatred.

The amount of bone chips to turn in will vary greatly depending on class, race, and most importantly deity.

Iksar Monks

  • Faction name: Swift Tails
  • Applies to: Monk guild NPCs

Turn in thousands of bone chips to Trooper Mozo in FoB.

Iksar Shamen

  • Faction name: Scaled Mystics
  • Applies to: All Iksar shamen and Crusader Quarg.

Turn in thousands of bone chips to Trooper Mozo in FoB.

Iksar Necros

Kill The Forsaken iksars who roam Kunark.

Iksar Shadowknights

Turn in thousands of bone chips to Trooper Mozo in FoB.

Iksar Warriors

  • Faction name: Legion of Cabilis
  • Applies to: All guards named 'Trooper', some 'Crusader'.

Kill goblins in WW and LOIO, or Sarnaks in all outdoor Kunark zones, or rogue iksar (The Forsaken).

Or if you hate the idea of being friends with the wretched invaders over in Firiona Vie, kill explorers in LOIO and turn in their knives.

Iksar Merchants (banker)

Turn in thousands of bone chips to Trooper Mozo in FoB.

Velious

Iksar start off the same as everyone else in Velious*. Both dragons and dwarves hate the giants, so they're the easiest ones to raise.

(* exception: certain Rallos Zek worshipers start off dubious to giants, and I believe Veeshan-worshipping bards are dubious to dragons.)

Wolf form in Velious will drop you to KoS until around Kindly or higher.

Coldain

Start at Apprehensive.

Kill frost giants (the bearded ones).

Giants

Start at bottom of Threatening.

Kill dwarves for frost giant faction. Kill dragons for storm giant faction.

Claws of Veeshan

Start at bottom of Threatening.

Kill storm giants (the clean-shaven ones).

Snowfang Gnolls

Start at Indifferent.

Kill walruses (Ulthork).

Otters and Walruses, Eternal Enemies

  • Otters: Othmir (Start at Indifferent)
  • Walruses: Ulthork (Start at bottom of Threatening)

To raise one, kill the other. The otters are cuter and sell baking supplies and give cool rewards to quests. There is no benefit to being friends with walruses.

Hanging out with the wood elves
