Real Money Transfers or "RMT" are when player A exchanges real life money (or something equivalent, like other goods or services) with player B for in-game platinum or items.
In order to create a level playing field and ensure that players "earn" their gear (vs. buying it unfairly out of game), all RMT is forbidden on Project 1999, per the Play Nice Policy.
However, giving away platinum or other items to other players (particularly new ones), and receiving nothing in exchange, is very much allowed, even with items of significant value. Also, giving away low level value items/amounts of platinum in exchange for community-related benefits (eg. bounties for wiki work) are also allowed.
