Over the last 10 days alone spambots have added over 500 junk articles to the wiki, not including their user pages, filled with dangerous links. Something needs to be done to stop them from auto-generating more accounts and spamming us with ChatGPT-built scam/spam articles. If nothing else, they're bloating the wiki's size and will end up making it cost more and more in hosting and storage. --Frission (talk) 10:12, 20 March 2025 (UTC)

Is this true? Trane has made it his personal vendetta to scour the wiki for any mention of a server or P99 firsts and erase them. From my history on the server (3 years), it has always been a thing to post server firsts including screenshots of items and player(s) attaining said items. Correct me if I am wrong and this is unacceptable, and if so, please be consistant and erase ALL mention of server firsts with screenshots of items from every single item in wiki.project1999.com.

This isn't at all what is happening. This user is attempting to add an edit containing the phrase " BOKKE, THE BLUEST BITCHBOY THAT GOT GRIEFED OFF THE SERVER. BAD." to the wiki entry for one of his server firsts. Instead of allowing him to continuously troll this wiki page and specifically call out individuals, I removed the offending edits. I also removed all mentions of his server firsts. I did this because I attempted, on May 5th on this very page, to figure out exactly what was to be done about vandals on this wiki. I never received a response, so I took matters into my own hands. If someone who administrates or moderates this wiki would like to step in here, I would gladly accept whatever judgement is passed down. What I am not going to sit idly by and watch as a user repeatedly harasses another user for essentially no reason whatsoever. --Trane (talk) 21:15, 24 June 2016 (UTC)

Are you on crack? I told you what that was and haven't included it in any one of the server first wiki contribs since maybe March? You're a terrible troll and your misuse of the wikipedia has been noticed. Being upset and handling it the way you are doing just shows your true nature and how ridiculously childish you truly are. We really should work in a section for the merchants buy back price of items... i think something with a minimum buy back and maximum by back price would be nice..
+
Everything you just wrote is an abject lie. You re-added the offending material as recently as your last set of edits. --Trane (talk) 20:08, 28 June 2016 (UTC)

and maybe a link to a description of how npc merchants work... ie greedy merchants / standard merchants.
+
I went through the history, and it appears Bokke and TamTam were *both* warring over whose image should be on the woven grass chestguard page, with Bokke specifically posting an image of him having beaten TamTam in a duel. Clearly a pissing contest between two pvpers. Yes Bleed took it too far but I'd argue so did Bokke, and he definitely went too far first. The wiki is no place for that sort of nonsense from either of them. --Frission (talk) 10:23, 20 March 2025 (UTC)

Doesn't have to be 100% accurate because there are numerous factors that affect resale price (People can update it as they have different experiences).. but as long as people know a range of what stuff sells for.. they will be able to make smarter choices of what to discard and what to keep. : There is an explanation of CHA and pricing under Game Mechanics. Prices for all items sold by a merchant are already listed on the merchant pages. They could be added to the individual item pages I suppose? --Ravhin 15:27, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

I think having a line somewhere on an items page where it has a low, high , average sales price (what you would get if you sold to a merchant) would give people some idea what to expect w/o having to click off an item page to a merchant page.

I was trying to update my UI the other day, specifically change DuxaUI's hotbar to use inventory slots with clickies instead of the default ranged/ammo slots in the bottom right, and I had to google the inventory slot numbers and names. I would like to add a section to the wiki about the UI files, but I have some hesitation due to:

small note on water flasks though... summoned water flasks won't work in tradeskill recipes like on
+
1) It could get very large, very quickly

Skinning Knife.. maybe update template to say all but summoned or just removed the summoned line? Jado818 22:01, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
+
2) I do not plan on ever completely developing UI from scratch, so there is tons of information I never plan on learning or being able to add to the wiki.

Multiple Monster With Same Names
+
3) I am not a huge contributor to the wiki, so I am a bit unfamiliar with best-practices when creating this section. Basically, should it be a single long page? Should I split it up into sections? How should I split it up? Etc.

I put up some thoughts of what a page for this situation could look like
+
I also feel that should the UI section ever get comprehensive enough, it should be added to the important pages links on either the front page, the sidebar, or both.

+
TL;DR: A UI section could be amazing, but there is just no way I'll be able to do all of it the way I feel it should/could be done.

Drop Rates
+

+
A lot of the drop rates on the wiki are entirely inaccurate or just guesstimates that don't reflect the reality in game.
+

+

+
I made a template so people can add drop rates into the articles as they get them.
+

+

+
If the sample size is below 100 kills a percentage will not appear and just ??? will show up so people known its not very accurate.
+

+

+
If the sample size is below 500 kills a greyed out percentage will appear so people will know its semi accurate.
+

+

+
If the sample size is above 500 the percentage will appear in black.
+

+

+
It may seem like a lot but on some more contested monsters or farmed monsters sample sizes can grow quickly.
+

+

+
This template may not be for every article but it certainly can be useful on popular monsters.
+

+

+
Here is an example i put on Xalgoz's article. I copied his loot over here.
+

+

+

+

                   0
+

       0
+

  (First Drop) 6
+

  (Second Drop) 0
+

Shrunken Iksar Skull Necklace 0
+

+

+
Notice i made a part for a first and second drop. Because the Xalgozian Fang does not always drop however it can drop up to two sometimes. and if both drop slots were on one tally.. it could be over 100% and people would think it always drops.. which is not the case.

Named / Monster Template
+

+
I think the named / monster template should be updated so that images are of a uniform size and consistency.
+

+

+
Users can upload an image of any different dimensions and then the template would force it to one size
+

+

+
either with the built in thumb 200 X 200 or with a custom size.. maybe 400 X 400... idk can figure out what works best.
+

+

+

+
I've noticed that images and article layouts don't always appear the same on different size monitors / resolutions so some work could be done in that respect.

I believe it was a bonus zone for luclin much like the warrens was a bonus zone for velious.

Not that I don't think it would be cool if Jaggedpine Forest was added to P99.
+

+

+
There is quite a bit of content on the wiki (over 200 articles) about Jaggedpine Forest that were created before I joined as an editor and I don't want to undo all that work without some confirmation of whether Jaggedpine Forest is intended to be implemented at some time or not.
