Description

This elusive giant is confirmed to spawn near the southeast corner at (-1035, -1535) at 11PM and 7AM. He has more than one possible spawn point, another has been observed spawning somewhere west of Befallen before 8AM while (-1035, -1535) was camped, pathing along the same nodes in the desert strip.

He may spawn at other times during night. This spawn point also produces hill giants during the day and night, as late as 7PM and 11PM. Perhaps they share a day/night placeholder cycle (like many NPCs do in south ro). Pumas have also been observed pathing along the same nodes as the hill giants and may also be placeholders. See discussion for more notes.

Regardless of the exact mechanics of his spawn, he is rare enough, or the mechanics are obscure enough, that it is usually more efficient to find another player who stumbled on him selling the head rather than try to camp it yourself. It could easily take hours or days.

On P99 Green he is always named "Nightfall Giant", not "a nightfall giant" as the image on ZAM suggests.

This NPC was introduced Oct 1999 as part of the Temple of Sol Ro patch. [1]
