Light sources in EverQuest come in many different forms, from basic torches to swords that glow to good old-fashioned lightstones. Some must be equipped while others only need be in your inventory, and there are different levels of brightnesses as well. This is an incomplete list of the game's light-producing items.

Not to be confused with items that grant effects such as Ultravision.

Types of light sources

The following is wholly the work of this website. It is not 100% accurate to Project 1999 but it's close.

There are 14 different types of light sources in the game, each with its own attributes. The following chart lists these types.

Number refers to under-the-hood item data references. These numbers have no bearing on their brightness or priority!
Light Name is the name of the light source number as categorized by the Allakhazam/Lucy websites, and referring to a "base" item.
Color approximates which of the four colors of light sources the light is: Blue, Purple, Red, or Orange. Orange will not illuminate underwater.
Brightness is the ranking of each light source's brightness (non-underwater) with 1 being the brightest. Click to sort.
Priority is the priority of each light source taken into account when you have multiple lights with 1 being the highest priority. Click to sort.
Note that some types of light work without being equipped, and again that warm light does not work underwater (but still retains its priority).
