Project 1999 currently only supports a single EverQuest client (ie. version of the EverQuest software), and that client is the Titanium Edition client. Although this client has some newer features which are not part of Classic EverQuest, and this does lead to some unclassic features on the server (see Project 1999), overall it was the best client for the developers of Project 1999 to work with when they started the project, and it remains the only supported client.
A former Project 1999 staff member (Secrets) has explored making the Trinity client work on Project 1999, but at the time of writing that client remains unsupported.
