"This item only dropped for about a week before they nurfed the camp. There was a pirate skeleton camp on the shore near the Great Owoomp camp, and one of the named spawns dropped this and some other nice items like a haste belt and EB item and +mod swimming boots. As far as I know these mobs have not been reimplimented anywhere, so this cape is now a relic." | "This item only dropped for about a week before they nurfed the camp. A relevant comment from Allakhazam, circa 2002:
"This item only dropped for about a week before they nurfed the camp. There was a pirate skeleton camp on the shore near the Great Owoomp camp, and one of the named spawns dropped this and some other nice items like a haste belt and EB item and +mod swimming boots. As far as I know these mobs have not been reimplimented anywhere, so this cape is now a relic."
The EQC Lost Item Guide also lists the Crossbone Cape as dropping from Captain Crag, a level 30 skeleton on the opposite side of the island from the ogre camp. Both Captain Crag and his Cape were apparently removed early in Kunark.
