Hello! Welcome To Drilastrun's Druidic Tips!

Intro

Druids have very many options, and can be great at soloing, and are still viable in a group. Having nukes, DoTs, Buffs, Heals, Damage Shields, Wolf Form, SoW, ports, charms, AoE Lulls, AoE nukes, etc, Druids have a enormous variety of tactics at their disposal. I would also like to mention that this guide is incomplete and was made by a wood elf druid, so some material may not be viable for other races. Now, on to Tactics!

Tactics

First Tactic: Tanking-For Druids, this is the most absolutely ridiculous tactic past level 20 or so. If you play a druid, and use this tactic a lot, stop reading this guide, and go find a warrior guide or whatever. If you are tanking, it should be because your pet is on low health, or someone in your group is on low health, or someone else's pet in your group is on low health. whatever the reason, it should be one of the above.

Places to Tank:

1-5: Newbie zone. for those in Gfay, mail quest is good XP for 1-7.

5-10: Again, mail quest is good XP, probably till about level 7. Blackburrow is also a good choice, keep the gnoll fangs to give to Captain Tillin in Qeynos for absurdly high XP. And for those in Rivervale, try WC or EC, go take orcs.

10-15: Crushbone for Faydwer Druids, Blackburrow is still viable, and so are Commons orcs.

15+: I have no suggestions for this one, as tanking is now a worse option.

Second Tactic: Root Rotting-This is a good tactic, if you don't have any room to kite, this might be an answer. To root rot, cast Grasping Roots on the target, then a DoT. Note: Root Rotting is best past level 14, as that is when you get stinging swarm. make sure that your root stays on, if it fails, Uh-oh.

Places to Root Rot:

14+: Just about anywhere, as long as mobs are good for XP.

Third Tactic: Kiting-This is a great tactic: I use it all the time to destroy mobs, and it's very easy. to start, snare the mob, then DoT. Once the mob is ~30% HP, Start Hitting them. Again, Kiting is best past 14. If you have a necro friend, kiting is the NO. 1 way to get XP.

Places to Kite:

14: Willowisps and beetles in N Karana, keep lightstones and greater lightstones from willowisps to give to the Gypsies in NK.

16-20: Scythe beetles in NK, get Willowisps still.

20-31: Aviak Village in SK. if this is overrun by higher levels who are killing all the Darters and Rooks, try going to the northern part and killing the wandering aviaks. if Knari Morawk is up, kill him for the Electrum Bracelet. (Note that the egrets are spoiled little children, drop ~1-5 plat, and run FAST!)

Fourth Tactic: Fear Kiting-Note that this tactic can only be used on animals, but do not do this on social animals. to fear kite, cast Terrorize Animal or Panic Animal, then cast a DoT, and snare. follow them around and whack on them, until they are dead. if any spells wear off (notably Fear,) put it back on and start whacking them again.

Places to Fear Kite:

1+: I'm really not sure about this one, update if possible.

Fifth Tactic: Charm Kiting-This is a great Tactic. It's easy, and doesn't use much mana. Just charm a mob, then have it attack a mob of equal or almost equal level. keep your pet's health just above the other mob's health. to keep your pet winning, cast a DoT, feral spirit (on your pet) or take some hits. to get your pet's health down, spam the 'back' button until your pet has as little health as you like. Important Note! Do not let the other mob kill your pet, if it does, you will not get XP. If your pet breaks charm, just charm it again.

Places to Charm Kite:

14-23: I went to 23 on Gorge Hounds and Griffawns in East Karana. Kill spiders if possible, however they are NOT tagged as animals, so you can't charm them.

20-39: See Cazic Thule Alligator Pit and Cazic Thule Alligator Alley.

20+: See Druid Charm Kiting Guide by Angelhawk.

I'm afraid I'm all out of Tactics, so please add some if you can.

Duos: Druid and ?

Here I'll show you what I think of Druid groups, Good and Bad.

Druid + Bard: Never played with a bard, however It would be nice if the bard can swarm kite while you mana up.

Druid + Cleric: The ultimate buff group. Cleric does HP buffs, Druid can strength and SoW. When it comes to healing, cleric is 1st place, always.

Druid + Shaman: Druids and shamans are very alike, and I have never played a duo with a shaman.

Druid + Druid: Take druid power, multiply it by two, here you are.

Druid + Enchanter: Ultimate Charm power. Great for charm kiting.

Druid + Magician: Great for killing fast + efficiently. Druid and Mage can sit while pet tanks, druid can damage shield pet and heal, plus damage spells from both.

Druid + Wizard: Great for quad kiting, since druids aren't great at it. I did not mention this tactic in the tactics section, since I tried it and I was not very good at it.

Druid + Necromancer: Awesome at kiting. The druid has snare and OK DoTs, while the necro has great DoTs, pet to follow around and hit the mob, etc. The mob should usually be following the necro if kiting is done right.

Druid + Warrior: Again, I have not played a duo with many other classes, so here I would guess warrior can tank while druid gains mana.

Druid + Shadow knight: Same as warrior.

Druid + Paladin: Same as warrior.

Druid + Ranger: Good Duo, just give the Ranger some buffs and they are happy with you.

Druid + Rouge: Probably good at kiting. Druid pulls the mob with snare and rouge lands backstab (Note for rogues: if you try to get behind a mob to backstab it, go behind it while they lift up their arm to hit you. also strafe).

Druid + Monk: Great Duo. Monks are the masters of DPS and druids can heal and buff them. not to mention land creeping crud and nukes on the mob.
