Walkthrough

This quest is the 3rd step following the Parrying Pick Quest from Diggins

Find Mater just outside the Kaladim Bank at loc 560, 205

You say, 'Hail Mater'

Mater says, 'Welcome to the mines of Kaladim!'

You say, 'I am ready to earn my Miners Pick 628'

Mater says 'So you have heard of Mining Pick 628 and feel you are ready to wield one? You shall earn one with the return of the ogre head of [Boog Mudtoe] and the 300 gold pieces he still owes me. Don't return unless you have the head and the 300 gold!!'

You say, 'Who is Boog Mudtoe?'

Mater says 'Boog Mudtoe is one of the last remaining ogres of the Mudtoe clan. We helped him escape the assault of the Stormguard for a small fee. Unfortunately for him, we have come to believe his head to be more valuable than the fee. We hear there is someone near the port of Butcherblock who knows of the Mudtoe's whereabouts.'

(Optional) Glorin Binfurr is at location 1359, 3254 in Butcherblock Mountains at the docks.

You say, 'Hail, Glorin Binfurr'

Glorin Binfurr says 'Pleasure to meet you. Keep your eye out for the ship. You don't want to miss it.'

You say, 'Do you know of the Mudtoe's whereabouts?'

Glorin Binfurr says 'Mudtoes!! I have heard tales of that foul clan of ogres. A few of the passengers aboard the ships have claimed to have seen one of them, off and on, amongst pirates in the Ocean of Tears!!'

Find and kill Boog Mudtoe on the Ancient Cyclops Island in the Ocean of Tears. He is a placeholder for the Ancient Cyclops which is frequently camped. Therefore he is often being killed and you should be able to loot the head just by asking. Loot Ogre Head from Boog Mudtoe.

Bring his head and 300 Gold back to Mater in order to get your pick (a weapon useable only by dwarf rogues).
