Manna Robe
Item 838.png

MAGIC ITEM
Slot: CHEST
AC: 14
INT: +8
Effect: Mana Conversion (Must Equip, Casting Time: 3.0) at Level 50
WT: 3.5 Size: MEDIUM
Class: NEC WIZ MAG ENC
Race: ALL

Unlike its classic counterpart [Manastone], Manna Robe has no zone restrictions for its use but has a 3 second cast time.

Activating this item will burn 60 HP and add 20 mana to the user. This effect is similar to a Shaman's [Cannibalize] spell line, though it is less HP to mana efficient. The 60 HP loss will first burn through a user's Rune or other damage absorb shield before hitting their hit points. This makes Manna Robe an exceptional tool for Wizards when paired with their epic, [Staff of the Four], which can be clicked for a resource free 800 damage absorb shield (13 damage free clicks = 260 mana).

Magicians and Enchanters will find Manna Robes to be an effective tool when mana is needed in an urgent situation. Necromancers can utilize it the same way, but the HP to mana ratio is significantly lower than their [Lich] spell line. Necromancers can best utilize a Manna Robe by pairing it with a [Shissar Seance Staff] or a [Shissar Deathspeaker Staff] which, similar to the Wizard epic, provides resource free pool to burn down into mana. Unlike Wizards though, Necromancers get a smaller pool from their click and require a target, which makes [Stalking Probes] or [Holgresh Elder Beads] a valuable tool when there is no clickable target available.

It's best to use a Manna Robe in a similar fashion to the ever popular Shaman Canni-Dance. Every 6 seconds there is a tick that checks your character's state and processes things like regenerated hit points, regained mana, and so on. It doesn't matter what state the character is in between the ticks, only at the tick. This means you can sit to meditate, wait for the tick to give you mana from meditating, then stand up and click the Manna Robe. You'll lose 60 HP/absorb and gain 20 mana before the tick happens. As long as you sit back down before the tick, you'll be treated as if you were sitting and meditating, giving you mana and HP as if you never stood up.
