Runnyeye Citadel Bar Room
Humans, dwarves, and halflings aren't the only ones who enjoy a good tonic from time to time. At the deepest depths of the Runnyeye Citadel lies the city of Pickclaw Goblins. They've spared nothing, including all the makings of a proper city such as a bank, inn, barracks, and yes even a tavern. Compared to other parts of the city, in fact, it seems they've taken special care here to craft a rather pleasant watering hole. What better way to reward your goblin warriors than to treat them with a nice Ale after returning from the battle above against those filthy Halflingses?
The main entrance to the bar is through a large pair of double doors in the city courtyard. A long hallway leads to the bar which you'll find warmly lit by the flicker of a fireplace. The decorations and styling of the bar room is also unique in its own sense as well, creating the feeling of an actual tavern rather than just some room in an enemy city. A painting of a mushroom adorns one wall, which at first seems like an odd choice, but perhaps it's a subtle nod to the subterranean nature of these Pickclaws. On another wall hangs a golden clad portrait of the Goblin King (check this, maybe it's a god? Brell?), framed in a border of gemstones. There's also a finely crafted menu posted and a rather elaborate selection of bottles and barrels on display behind the bar counter.
If you're fortunate enough to be in good standing with the Pickclaw Goblins, a goblin bartender will be eager to serve you many Antonica staples. The selection includes nothing too out of the ordinary, except perhaps for the slightly less common Capt. Orlin's Spiced Ale.
The next room over is general store with a goblin merchant selling basic food, drink, and basic Inn supplies. Again with the attention to detail, the goblins have carved out cubby holes to store their meat and strung lines to dry their fish. They've also had the thought to decorate the room with various sized vases placed about.
All in all, a visit to the Pickclaw Goblin bar is a worthy stop for any Runnyeye visitor. Granted it is quite the trek down here from the top, and you'll surely need an accurate map to navigate the maze-like passages of the upper levels, but once your down to the city at least you can be rest assured you'll have an Ale waiting for you. There's also a goblin banker just on the other side of the town square in case your coin purse has gone empty.
