You say, 'Hail, Watcher Aenwen.'

Watcher Aenwen says, 'Have you seen it? Not the snowfall, but the sky. Not the cold, but the silence beneath it. Something ancient has shifted. A song once sung by stars has stilled. The Icestar — the first gift ever given — is breaking. And with it, the enchantments that bind the Plane of Snowdrift to your world begin to fade. The magic allowing us to read the Ledger is broken. We Snowdrift Elves are oathbound to frost and memory. We may not intervene where the sky fractures. But you…You may still walk the [cracked places].'

You say, 'What cracked places'

Watcher Aenwen says, 'They are echoes. Reflections. Where the Icestar’s light once shone strongest in your world — now dimmed, disturbed. Rifts between our and your worlds that cannot be seen with our eyes, but are known. Go to them. Three places: where a king stands in a land once touched by frostbreath, frozen statues under the rule of a frozen master, and the crossroads of caves in a dreadful land. At each place, speak her name. Say: Aurilias, I remember.’ The fracture will answer, if you are true.'

Hand in all three Crystals to Watcher Aenwen.

Watcher Aenwen touches the crystal, which glows faintly. She says, 'You have walked where we cannot. And the Icestar has heard you. It remembers, just a little. Take this - a fragment of what once was written, and what may still be restored. This story belongs in the Ledger. Let it be remembered.

You receive Chapter I, The Shatter Sky and a Holiday Gift.
