Skeletons are the undead remains of vertebrate humanoids with little or no flesh remaining; an animated collection of bones. Skeletons in EverQuest are usually aggressive, and may laugh hysterically on melee attacks and spell casts. Like other undead, some skeletons retain some small portion of their mortal souls and/or memories. They may be capable of speech or conversation, but are more often completely bonkers. Most skeletons are simple warriors, but some may be wizards or shadow knights. Some may have special elemental attacks as well.
Necromancers and Shadow Knights notably have the ability to summon skeletons as pets to fight alongside them. To summon skeletons, they require Bone Chips (two for most spells) which are dropped by all NPC skeletons. These classes as well as Enchanters may transform into skeletons at will.
