Description
Bears are large, mammalian quadrupeds which inhabit many corners of Antonica, including forests, mountains, tundras, and caves. Most bears are not aggressive, but they tend to be social. Some bears are friendly enough to be tamed or befriended by characters, such as Iceberg and the bears of Surefall Glade. The unkempt druids of Rathe Mountains also live alongside bears in a presumably amiable relationship.
Bears are prized by tailors for the High Quality Bear Skins that they drop that are used for Hand Made Backpacks. Lower quality pelts are used for crafting large sized leather armor pieces.
In Kunark, Shaman class players gain the ability to transform into a bear for some increased stats. The color of that bear depends on the player's race. Also in Kunark, Druids gain the ability to summon a small, low-level bear pet at level 55.
