Mining Caps (Normal): Mining caps (a/k/a useless caps) are sometimes dropped by kobold scouts (though not often). Take these caps to the two skeleton miners at the entrance to Paineel, or to the Abandoned Heretic's Pet. All three will give experience; the two skeletons mining in the tunnel will break off a part of themselves as a reward and give you a bone chips or some zombie skin (or occasionally a fractured femur or bone shield [AC8]) and the Abandoned Heretic's Pet will reward you with a gem he has recently mined.
