Kalanar's Guide to Cleric Heals

Thank you, Ravhin, for formatting Kalanar's Guide to Cleric Heals that I wrote for the Cleric boards 10 years ago into a beautiful wiki article! I didn't know anyone even still had that. I'm not sure I even have it any longer.

Quag

Hello! Thank you for cleaning up on my Quag page. I've never used wiki before and decided to blow an afternoon poking around on it. Hopefully I'll get better at it and be able to make meaningful contributions some day :P -- Maestro

I poked around on the Gear Reference page and changed the Bard section to use HTML lines instead of a wiki-bulleted list so I could change the gear piece links to mouseover links. Does this cause too much clutter or should I go ahead and change all of them? -- Maestro

Thanks for the help

I really appreciate your help cleaning up after me. --Donkdonk 08:18, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

Re: Sortable Tables

The reason I am looking at Sortable Tables is because I think the Skill Jewelcrafting looks awful. You can see what I am working on here. --Donkdonk 18:25, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Rav's Utils

If you need help fixing any code and move the utilites out of "beta" please let me know. I am pretty good with PHP. --Donkdonk 18:46, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for feedback

  • I'm still learning more advanced aspects of Wiki editing but I'll make sure you won't (generally) have to clean up after me, keeping things linked. etc., etc.
  • The quests and the formating I was intending to get to today and tomorrow, just wanted to get basic info out there while I'm researching stuff before fretting with format.
  • Yeah I like the see also, and the idea of standardized categories like "Quests" for zone entries, all nice and consistent across all pages. I originally added it just to be able to link to some orphan pages. With the intent of coming back later and fine tuning the entries I used under "See Also"
  • The infobox, lol yeah I gotta do some googling on that. I initially tried looking for a list of available boxs here but didn't come across anything. A bit later I found some so I will look into that much more but what I really want is something similar to Wikipedias infobox like on towns for instance see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tillamook,_Oregon the picture(s) followed by meaningful stats? We should have something similar standardized for all the various types of entries Zones, Mobs, Items etc. Obviously we could keep it MUCH simpler and straight forward than that wiki example I linked but the gist is the same.
  • The waiting on Velious makes sense and it doesn't, I would suggest a disclaimer on items that way the work can get done while people are willing to put in the work but also someday velious will be finished and who knows maybe P99 or another EQclassic will wipe and restart progression. You'd still have Velious/Kunark content on the wiki ya know, so it seems to me in the long haul just putting a note or prefix on the item so the user can tell its from content not released would be more efficient.
  • But that's just my two cents =P I'll stick to my userpage so I don't rock the boat.

Item links?

Been adding Velious stuff in advance and I think I got everything except how to do the pop-up item link. This quest has one of the item images uploaded but I can't figure out how to get it to link. Help? --Xxtayce

Skins

I'm sure I'm driving you nuts by now. Sorry for that. Can I make my own wiki skin? Or is that stored in admin untouchable area somewhere? I'd love to have a nice medium blue-grey one based off the default, and wouldn't mind making it at all. --Xxtayce

Can you email me a zipped copy of the defaultskin p99 wiki uses? (should be a php file and some css files in a folder) That way all I'll be changing is colors and we won't have to worry about compatibility with a possibly older version. --Xxtayce

Categories hepl?

I forgot how to make Categories on wiki. I want one for Templates and Dieties/Gods. Thanks U! Maximum 21:11, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Upgrade Wiki Markup

Rav! Do you have the authority to update to the latest MediaWiki? http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Download Maximum 17:05, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Using off wiki resources

Not exactly sure how that works or what not.. I've always done wiki's with all the resources stored in the actual wiki itself..

for example.. I made a page for Banaf Norkhitter today.. and noticed two of the items he sells were not on the wiki itself.. I was going to add the items to the wiki.. Jeweler's Kit and Legacy of Jewel Craft but was unfamiliar with the link to the Lucy ID.

I could learn to use the Lucy ID i suppose.. but you would probably confuse a lot of editors with how interdependent the p99 wiki is on outside website resource.

I think its better to just have it all here.

less complicated the stuff is the better imo.

At the very least you should add a section on how to use the Lucy ID's or other off wiki resources in the how to use this wiki area.. The easier you make it for people to use the wiki.. the more complete it will become ;o Jado818 21:04, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

The Scraping Utility

I think there may be a problem with the scraping utility..

I've added about 10 or so NPC's (none monster) with it and they all have the same loot pool.. different zones / expansion / city etc Jado818 01:37, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Yah i thought there might be a problem.. but my philosophy is get pages made and if 80% of its there.. others can correct or edit as needed.. most people need something to work with rather than start from scratchJado818 23:57, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Yar.. I do my best to make sure what i add is actually in p99.. but im not 100% perfect... i do hope that others come in an edit / polish what i add.

Just the wiki is so blank atm I'm trying to add as much content as i can. Jado818 18:26, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

After actually READING how the scraper operates when it pulls from multiple potential mob names, it says that it goes to the lowest Illia ID, in this case when trying to scrap for 'an undead knight' (id=12299) it instead pulls 'an undead knight' (id=2084). One is just a faceless NPC from Temple of Sol Ro, while the one I'm trying to scrap for is a named spawn with a drop in Qeynos Aqueducts. A lot of common name problems like this will probably show up, 'a human skeleton' for the Wizard Brain Bite Quest for example. AnonSubHuman 10:34, 2 February (UTC)

Thanks for heads up

I'm ok if you want to delete the drops from section on the spells if its inaccurate.. can always reinput it as information becomes available.

Most of it seemed accurate from my memory from long ago.. but i can't really speak for p99... i do know a lot of the skyfire named things have good spell drops (again from memory ;p ) but yar.. i don't freak out if pages get edited or w/e.. i'm just trying to get the building blocks out there for people to build on. Adding Content

Yep sorry in advance for anything i add that isn't in the game.

My philosophy atm is the wiki is in dire need of content... and I'm sure of 95% of the stuff that i add... you or other editors can point out if something is wrong and delete... but i think I do more good than harm to the wiki.

I do also update my specific experience in game as i go also.. ive been replacing old outdated screenshots and updating locs / quest guides as i do quests for example.

I just think it helps people more when there is a page to edit than building up an article from scratch so i've been pumping out content.

It will be easier to track my edits once most of the in game stuff has an article... i've started to use that minor editing note thing to to make it easier on you as well.

Thank you for working with me. Jado818 19:01, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
