General Quest Info

The Ogre Shamans in Lake Rathetear at loc 3000,-1900 will crush/grind/powder dufrenite for you.

Krynn and Kyralynn at the Barbarian Village in Lake Rath will make the armor for you, loc 500,2500

They only accept Medium banded armor for these quests, not small or large. Medium banded does not actually say "Medium" on it. It is just called banded armor. So don't run all the way there with your large banded gauntlets and get stonewalled by Krynn, or run all the way there with the ringmail guantlets you got while farming the Centaur Charger for his chips, thinking you have your banded gauntlets with you. (Smithing)

You can buy Dufrenite from a merchant in your hometown, or from someone who got a drop. Dufrenite rarely drops in Solusek's Eye (Sol A) from clockwork gnomes. So far I have paid an average of 60pp per Dufrenite off using /auction. I haven't had to buy one from the merchant in Grobb, but it sells for 154pp there. The Grobb Merchants name is Zumzal, and he is in the Shaman Guild area. "The dufrenite can be purchased from the vendors Murtog MacYee & Holana Oleary in Halas"

Totemic Breastplate

Grizzleknot is a rare spawn in South Karana. He paths from the Treants in the NE corner, down past the Hermit's House in the SE corner of the zone. I got the bark while I was exping at the Centaur Stables. He ran right by, I alerted one of the higher level necros also killing centaurs, who killed him and let me loot the bark. (Thanks Evyl!!) He also drops the Treant Staff that procs root, and the Cloak of Leaves. I have seen him alot more often on p1999 than I remember on live.

Totemic Cloak

Basalt Drake are in the Rathe Mtns. I found mine at -1807, 54.72. The drake was even con at lvl23. I got the scales on the 1st kill, I killed it 3 more times, and the scales dropped every time. Seems to be a static spawn on p1999, instead of having to kill drake PH's and run all over the zone to kill them. (Any of the drakes can drop the basalt drake scales, not just the basalt drakes.)

Isle Goblin Chieftain is in OoT at spot #9 on the map. (The wizard place holder can also drop the Driftwood Pipe as I received mine from this method. Perhaps other goblins can drop it too?)

Totemic Helm

Glacier Bear is found in the Everfrost cave that can be reached by dropping down into the frozen lake in one of the openings and swimming down to the end of the West fork. You shouldn't need underwater breathing unless you have no swimming skill whatsoever as you can just swim along the top until you get to the portion where the opening actually is. The bear spawns near the 3way fork towards Sulon McMoor and is on an 6-8 hour spawn cycle with 2 Iced Bone Skeleton's as its place holder. Both the bear and the skelies patrol the entire cave when they spawn. A good strategy for finding him is to simply sit in the back of the cave and cast Sense Animal; if he is there, you will target him. He is level 27-30, is immune to frost damage and does hit you for about 40-50 damage, but is easily soloable by a 31; just Root, Dot, repeat.

Look out for Lich of Mirgaul, a level 45 necromancer. He has a huge agro range and can outrun sow.

Lizard Page These guys run around in the maze.

Totemic Greaves

Barbed Bone Skeleton are in Unrest. I got mine by sitting next to a group killing them. They called the camp spot the "FP"

Totemic Vambraces

Centaur Chargers are in South Karana at the Centaur Stables. I got my chips at lvl19, the stables appear to be permacamped at all hours of the day or night, I just asked if I could loot the corpses (Thanks Fross!!), and got my chip in about 5 minutes.

Totemic Boots

Tentacle Terror spawn in both Najena and Unrest. I got mine in Unrest the same way I got my barbed bones.

Orc Chief presides or a camp of Orcs in Lesser Faydark. At lvl23, all the other Orcs in the camp were green, so I was able to solo pull the Chief. He was blue to me, I just tanked him while the dots worked. Tongue dropped on the 1st kill. He is located on this map at number 9.

Totemic Gauntlets

These drops were pretty easy. I was able to solo both the Mammoths and Griffienes at lvl21 (both red) without too much trouble. Root and Dot works well.

Wooly Mammoths are plentiful. I farmed my ribs outside of the Permafrost Keep zone line, in case I had to bail. I got the ribs on my 2nd kill, but lost them when I tried to turn in Large Banded instead of Medium Banded for the quest. The 2nd time around I killed about 10 of them without a drop, then a nice necro (Thanks Asahi!!) sent me a tell out of the blue with the /loc of a mammoth he had killed. The worst part about this is the run to Everfrost. If you are an evil race, I suggest binding in the Gypsy Camp in North Karana, making the run, and gating back. Watch out for the 2 Barbarian guard types on the way out onto the tundra. If you have to ditch into Permafrost Keep, hug the wall on the left to avoid Ice Giant agro.

Griffienes were a bitch to find without track. At first I just ran around North Karana killing all the Griffawns I saw until I found a Griffiene. I actually got to lvl22 doing this, but only killed 1 Griffiene in this time. I then enlisted the help of a passing Ranger to track some down. We found 1 static spawn and 1 roaming spawn. After that farming the downfeather was just a matter of time. The roaming spawn flies from the Gypsy Camp to the druid rings and back. This spawn has a Griffawn PH. The static spawn is down the road west of the Gypsy Camp. Follow the road west until you see a house on the right hand side. Stop and turn left. You will see a stand of trees with a Griffiene and a Griffawn at -320, 1615. The Griffawn did not add when the Griffiene is pulled. (At least at lvl22) I did not keep track of how many Griffienes I killed, but it was a bunch. Each one took a full bar of mana and alot of Root/Dot action, but I was always full again by the time the next one spawned. I eventually got this down to were I could kill the Griffiene, the Griffawn that spawned next to her, and 1 or 2 passing grizzlies before the respawns. I made enough from the HQ bear pelts to buy another Dufrenite. Make sure you get the Downfeather, and not just the regular feather.

Totemic Bracers

Bull Elephant I killed 2 of these before I got my tooth. One at -6503, 1945, and one directly west of Aviak City (city was in view). Was blue at lvl22, and was an easy kill. Thanks for Jeah for tracking the 2nd one for me.

Aqua Goblin Tidal Lord Aqua Goblin Tidal Lords spawn at area 5 on this map. They are yellow to me at lvl22. The camp has 4 spawn points, and can spawn 3 different types of mobs, Mariners, Shamans, and Tidal Lords. The Mariners were either green or light blue. The Shamans were always blue. The Tidal Lords were always yellow. I killed 18 Tidal Lords before I got my shell.

Setup on the west side of the camp. I got random rat and skeleton agro while medding on the south/north/east sides, as well as mob trains from people running to Unrest.
