Description

One of the original Heretics of Paineel. Dartain and party sought to harness the power of a living wall. The Heretics damaged the living wall unleashing the elementals of the Underfoot. While attempting to seal the wall, Dartain ran in to Underfoot as the others were slaughtered by Master Yael and his elemental spawn. Dartain completed the seal from within Underfoot, trapping himself within for ages. Tampering with the seal has reopened the wound within the living wall and, rather unexpectedly, Dartain reemerged from within... 36 hour respawn time. Can drop between 0 and 2 items, and those items can be the same one (e.g. two tomes).

/target to pull him out from his hiding spot behind the rocks in the crypt.

He is considered undead. A healer and a charmed nearby fallen erudite can bring him down, but know that he is either extremely magic resistant or immune to magic altogether so slows will not land. Fire and disease spells are confirmed to land though, so a Necromancer might be the stronger option. If you're really unlucky, he can spawn dual wielding tomes and will dish out extreme damage.

02/26/2026: Dartain was dual wielding tomes. His damage output was insane and I had to enlist the help of a cleric to take him down.

the chance of Dartain dual wielding tomes is low, but never zero...
