As casters (who rarely melee) [[Wizard]]s are less concerned with their primary slot item than many classes.  However, there are a few weapons worth mentioning for [[Wizard]]s:

== Twinking a Wizard ==

=== Level 1+===
Wizards don't really need twinking to get through the earliest levels, but a melee weapon with a proc ({{:Smoldering Brand}} or {{:Velium Crystal Staff}}) will make them go by faster.  Also, a pet-summoning item like  {{:Brazier of Elemental Summoning}} or {{:Red Dragon Tooth}} can also help a Wizard burn through the lowest levels.

Extremely rich players may wish to purchase {{:Zlandicar's Heart}} and/or a {{:Mana Robe}} to speed up recovery.

=== Level 12 ===

At level 12 {{:Solist's Icy Wand}} can be used, and it's very useful both immediately (to kill mobs with just it and [[Root]]) and later on, to clean up quad kites (when you are low on mana, but the mobs have a few HP remaining).

=== Quad-Kiting (Level 12+) ===

Wizards can start quad-kiting as early as 12, but a {{:Journeyman's Boots}} (or a lot of {{:Blood of Wolf}} potions) are needed to do so.  Also, quad-kiting requires a large mana pool, so lots of +Mana gear (or +Intelligence gear, but at lower levels +Mana gear offers more mana) is recommended.</div>

=== Level 20 ===
At 20 Wizards can start using the {{:Staff of Temperate Flux}}, which is NO DROP, but can be multi-quested by a higher-level character.  This item can be used both to pull quad kite targets (instantly, while lowering their resistance at the same time), and while quad kiting, to assess the range of the mobs being kited.  Because the staff has the same range as the quad-nuke spells, and is instant cast, it can be pressed repeatedly while kiting: the moment it is out of range the Wizard knows they can safely cast a quad-nuke.
