Religion is very important to the various mortals of EverQuest, who worship various gods who created the universe and/or rule over its various aspects. Some gods have many worshippers, while others are forgotten or unknown by mortals. At character creation, the player may select a deity (or none in the case of agnostics) which is appropriate for their race and class. This selection has a very minor impact on certain equipment restrictions and a somewhat large impact on the player's faction standings.
