The Tangrin can be soloed or easily duo'd. Once he is slowed with Forlorn Deeds, use Trooper Taer with Boltran's Agacerie, OR Allure, while hasted Taer will dominate the fight finishing the fight with more than 50% HP, alternatively use Crusader Bodli   Bodli is charmable in June 2024. See discussion page for more). However, if charm breaks and The Tangrin summons you, you must land Rapture before he hits you with Monkey Stun or it could mean instant death.

Solo strategy: As an enchanter, charm whichever Trooper or Crusader isn't magic immune (there seems to be some variance with each Tangrin spawn, see below & the discussion page) with Boltran's Agacerie (does Allure work?) and haste it. Sic pet on monke, let it get aggro and tash > slow, then pray charm doesn't break. Tepid Deeds was more than enough at lv60. If charm does break, you'll likely get summoned so quickly Rapture the monkey & recharm the trooper/crusader. You might get hit by Monkey Stun before you can Dictate, and if you do it's probably over.

Who does and doesn't become MR immune seems to have variance. Tried both Bodli and Taer today on 5/6/2025, Bodli resisted everything that wasn't Rapture while Taer was fine. This is contradicts the info on the discussion page which said Taer was fully immune while Bodli wasn't. Other troopers I tested fully resisted everything and I couldn't get Allure to land on those that didn't. So to test, Dictate Taer or Bodli and try to charm them. Gate out if none of them stick, and know that they all run at jboots speed if something goes wrong.

Description

A huge, highly territorial monkey inhabiting an island off of the Field of Bone's northwestern coast. Has a 20 second stun with a 12 second recast time, and an aggro radius half the size of the island he roams. Flees at 15%. Drops Sands of the Mystics which is used in the Enchanter epic quest. Approach with care. Respawn 48hrs.

Added 1 month into Kunark.

At 60, a cleric can keep the Tangrin almost completely stunlocked with Enforced Reverence, Stun Command, and Sound of Force.
