Hello, and welcome to an Iksar's guide to love and friendship through murder. Well, not entirely through murder...just mostly through murder, for murder is the Iksar way.

Any numbers given are not exact, but do give a ballpark figure for when you will hit dubious or apprehensive with that particular faction.

Contents

Starting Out

It's common knowledge that Iksar are naturally KoS to everyone outside of their home city of Cabilis. The question for those determined to faction their way to peace is this: how KoS?

The answer is complex. Beta Neutral faction is indifferent to Iksar starting out, for example, while residents in Firiona Vie take far more convincing than residents in Antonica that Iksar are okay. Generally your starting faction will look like the following:

  • Kunark Outposts: Close to max KoS
  • Good factions: ~50 to 100 hits into KoS (so it takes roughly that many to reach threatening)
  • Evil factions: Bottom of threatening
  • Factions that start at apprehensive for other races: same
  • Neutral factions: same

So any given Iksar will start out scowls with Freeport Paladins and threatening with Freeport Militia, scowls with halflings and threatening with dark elves, etc.

One exception to the apprehensive starting faction group is frogloks in Guk. They automatically hate you for being a lizard.

Friendly Vendors

Friendly vendors start out indifferent to Iksar.

Antonica

  • Gypsies (Beta Neutral)
  • Druid ring vendors (but NOT druids) (Beta Neutral)
  • Basil the Skinner, Dran Hieth in Firiona Vie (there are probably more, will need to check)
  • The Shady Swashbuckler in EC tunnel
  • Mugu (large banded armor molds) and various other Ogre merchants in Feerrott
  • Katha Firespinner in EC by the WC zoneline
  • Toxdil by the secret entrance to the WFP tunnels in the newbie yard (north side)

Antonica

Freeport

Militia

Once you are non-KoS (indifferent) to Highpass Hold guards (see relevant section), turn in gnoll scalps by the hundreds to Captain Orben (Gnoll Scalp Collecting) or orc scalps to Captain Ashlan (Orc Scalp Collecting).

Freeport Paladins

Kill approx. 600 Deathfist orcs in WC and EC.

Or kill Sir Lucan D'Lere (massively lowers Militia faction).

Freeport Clerics

Freeport Monks

Kill approx. 600 Deathfist orcs in WC and EC.

Freeport Casters

  • Faction name: Academy of Arcane Scientists
  • Applies to: Casters in Freeport's caster guild, Ran Flamespinner in Highpass Keep

Do this before working on Freeport Militia, because this gives negative hits for Opal Darkbriar (Freeport tunnels) and Freeport Militia.

Best done with sneak or wolf form. Purchase several stacks of rat ears in EC from Katha Firespinner and travel to Qeynos Hills. Thusly disguised so that Rephas does not attack you, turn in the rat ears until he is no longer KoS. Once he's happy with you, the caster guild is happy with you.

Freeport Rogues

You start out dubious to these guys, enabling you to do the Note for Rebby quest to raise it and other factions if you'd like. (Involves crossing the paths of Freeport Militia.)

Antonican Bards

  • Faction name: League of Antonican Bards
  • Applies to: All bards on Antonica, and all the bards who give out mail delivery quests.

Kill anything in Mistmoore.

Neriak

Dark Elf Warriors (Indigo Brotherhood)

Dark Elf Necros and Shadowknights

Dark Elf Rogues

Dark Elf Clerics

Rivervale Area

Halfling Clerics

Halfling Guards

Halfling Rogues

Halfling Druids

Bixies

Technically everyone starts out dubious to Bixies, but if you ever feel like raising that, kill Mooto (random spawn at the goblin camps by Runnyeye entrance in Misty Thicket).

Ogres (Feerrott)

Trolls (Innothule)

Highpass Area

Highpass Hold Guards

  • Faction name: Highpass Guards
  • Applies to: All guards in Highpass Hold and Highpass Keep

Kill approx. 600 orcs or gnolls in Highpass Hold, hold onto scalps.

Highpass Hold Merchants (banker)

Once you are non-KoS (indifferent) to Highpass Hold guards (see relevant section), turn in gnoll scalps by the hundreds to Captain Orben (Gnoll Scalp Collecting) or orc scalps to Captain Ashlan (Orc Scalp Collecting).

Karanas

  • Faction name: Karana Residents
  • Applies to: Everyone living in the Karanas who isn't a Qeynos guard, including Sir Morgan.

Kill a bandit, a raider, and/or a highwayman in the Karanas. Lowers faction with the bandits, understandably. (You can raise bandit faction by killing gnolls.)

Qeynos

Good Qeynos Guards

Kill gnolls in Blackburrow, or kill bandits in the Karanas.

Evil Qeynos Guards

Once you are non-KoS (indifferent) to Highpass Hold guards (see relevant section), turn in gnoll scalps by the hundreds to Captain Orben (Gnoll Scalp Collecting) or orc scalps to Captain Ashlan (Orc Scalp Collecting).

Bloodsabers

This is another cult of Bertoxxulous that lives down in the Qeynos sewers. To raise it, kill anything remotely related to Rodcet Nife (the various priests of life, Lashun Novashine, koalindl fish, etc).

Qeynos Paladins

Bandit Sashes will raise this faction but lowers Bloodsabers faction. (Use wolf form)

Or donate lots and lots of money to Lashun Novashine (wolf form).

Qeynos Clerics

Bandit Sashes will raise this faction but lowers Bloodsabers faction. (Use wolf form)

Or donate lots and lots of money to Lashun Novashine (wolf form).

Qeynos Casters

Do Bat Fur Quest (misnomer, requires rat whiskers, bat furs, and fire beetle eyes). Use wolf form. (?)

Or do Blank Scrolls (with wolf form - you will need the druid to follow you through multiple zones multiple times.)

Qeynos Rogues

Qeynos Monks

Kill gnolls in Blackburrow.

Qeynos Citizens (banker)

Unsure, but the bankers in Freeport are on this same faction.

Maybe Snake Fang Necklace Quest?

Surefall Glade (Rangers and Druids)

Rangers

Druids

Kill gnolls in Blackburrow.

Unkempt Druids

These guys are nuts. Raise it by killing treants, symbols of nature. (Lowers regular druid and KoS animal factions.)

Note that despite their stated mission, the Unkempt and KoS animal factions are not necessarily related. My hypothesis is that, like PETA and nature, animals of Norrath are trapped in an abusive relationship with unkempt druids.

KoS Animals

Use an alt or friend to collect lots of black wood chips from Raffel Minnmorn (don't kill him yourself) and turn them in to Gerael Woodone. Lowers Unkempt Druids.

Halas

Barbarian Rogues

Barbarian Shamans

Barbarian Warriors

Faydwer

Gnomes

Gnome Guards (Warriors)

Kill kobolds near the entrance of Ak'Anon.

Gnome Casters

Gnome Clerics and Rogues

I don't believe there is any way to raise this faction.

Gnome Merchants

Once you reach dubious with Gem Choppers (the guards/warriors), do Rusted Black Boxes (lowers faction with gnome necros). Involves killing defective clockworks in Steamfont Mountains.

Gnome Necros

There's no real reason to make peace with this particular extra-smelly set of gnomes, but if you do, you just need to kill a lot of the other gnomes because they all hate Dark Reflection and Dark Reflection hates them (although newbie gnome necros start out dubious just so they can get out of the city).

King of Gnomes

Kill minotaur slavers in Steamfont Mountains.

Wood Elves

Treetown Guards

Kill approx. 600 Crushbone orcs OR 600 goblins in Butcherblock Mountains. (The orcs are more plentiful but lower your Indigo Brotherhood faction.)

Treetown Merchants (banker)

After hitting amiable with Emerald Warriors, do Emerald Warriors' Items or Shark Meat Quest.

(To do the shark meat quest, it's best to travel to Erudin. This means you should do this section after Qeynos and good Erudites, but before evil Erudites, because some of the sharks give faction hits to Heretics (a diseased shark and a young shark).)

Treetown Druids

Do the Muffin for Pandos quest. (Use wolf form.)

Treetown Rogues

These guys may or may not be indifferent to all. (Need to confirm in-game)

Treetown Rangers

Kill Crushbone orcs.

Treetown Bards

These guys should be indifferent to all, but there are two bards in the Songweavers' guild that are on Antonican Bard faction (Jakum Webdancer and Idia).

If you want them to really really really like you, do Sylia Windlehands' Spiderling Silks quest.

High Elves

High Elf Casters

Free the high elf slaves in Crushbone (slave keys 20 and 21).

Or kill important NPCs in Neriak.

High Elf Paladins

Bone Chips Felwithe (with wolf form) will raise this faction.

High Elf Clerics

Bone Chips Felwithe (with wolf form) will raise this faction.

King of the High Elves

Kill anything in Mistmoore.

Dwarves

Dorf Warriors

Kill Crushbone orcs OR kill goblins and aqua goblins in Butcherblock Mountains.

Dorf Rogues

Kill dwarven bandits in Butcherblock Mountains. (#12 on the map for BB - Peg Leg spawns a non-KoS mob for the Shaman epic quest upon death.)

(Killing clockworks in SolA lowers this faction.)

Dorf Clerics

Best way to raise this is with the Kaladim Bone Chip Quest after becoming non-KoS with dorf pallies.

Dorf Paladins

Turn in Crushbone belts to Canloe Nusback for Crushbone Belts quest.

(Lowers Ogre Warrior faction (Craknek Warriors)

King of Dwarves

Bone Chips Kaladim will raise this faction.

Odus

Good Erudites

Do this before doing Paineel faction.

  • Deepwater Knights: Kill heretics in Paineel.
  • Guards: Kill kobolds in The Warrens.
  • Merchants: Have wolf form on hand, do The Lorekeeper's Scrolls quest.

Evil Erudites

Heretics: Kill kobolds in The Warrens. You'll probably be max-KoS at this point, so get ready to kill more than a thousand.

Kunark

Overthere Outpost

  • Faction name: Venril Sathir
  • Applies to: Everyone in the evil outpost in The Overthere.

Do Protect the Shipyard by killing sarnak berzerkers and handing in their war braids 4 at a time. Good luck figuring out how to do this on your own. (Note: No one on Kunark likes wolf form.)

Or kill dragons in Veeshan's Peak.

Firiona Vie

  • Faction name: FirionaVie (referred to incorrectly as Inhabitants of Firiona Vie on this wiki)
  • Applies to: Majority of residents in the Firiona Vie outpost, guards, pilgrims, and Firiona drixies.
  • Exceptions: The barbarian shamen in the guild hall on the docks (Halas faction), Shieldbearer Relios (High elf faction), Shieldbearer Beurd (High elf faction), Vrionele (?), Tracker Azeal's patrolling form (indifferent to all)

Kill approx. 1,000 goblins in the goblin fort in Warsliks Woods or at #9 in Lake of Ill Omen. (This will get you barely to dubious.)

The Great Iksar City

You're an Iksar, right? You shouldn't need this faction. For everyone else, this is a very, very difficult set of factions to raise, for Iksar return your homeland's hate tenfold because a) Cazic-Thule worshipers, and b) Iksar are naturally stronger in all aspects, including hatred.

Iksar Monks

  • Faction name: Swift Tails
  • Applies to: Monk guild NPCs

Turn in thousands of bone chips to Trooper Mozo in FoB.

Iksar Shamen

  • Faction name: Scaled Mystics
  • Applies to: All Iksar shamen and Crusader Quarg.

Turn in thousands of bone chips to Trooper Mozo in FoB.

Iksar Necros

Kill The Forsaken iksars who roam Kunark.

Iksar Shadowknights

Turn in thousands of bone chips to Trooper Mozo in FoB.

Iksar Warriors

  • Faction name: Legion of Cabilis
  • Applies to: All guards named 'Trooper', some 'Crusader'.

Kill goblins in WW and LOIO, or Sarnaks in all outdoor Kunark zones, or rogue iksar (The Forsaken).

Or if you hate the idea of being friends with the wretched invaders over in Firiona Vie, kill explorers in LOIO and turn in their knives.

Iksar Merchants (banker)

Turn in thousands of bone chips to Trooper Mozo in FoB. If you aren't Iksar, it will take many, many more bone chips to be able to use the merchants in Cabilis than pretty much all the other factions.

Velious

Iksar start off the same as everyone else in Velious*. Both dragons and dwarves hate the giants, so they're the easiest ones to raise.

(* exception: certain Rallos Zek worshipers start off dubious to giants, and I believe Veeshan-worshipping bards are dubious to dragons.)

Coldain

Start at Apprehensive.

Kill frost giants (the bearded ones).

Giants

Start at bottom of Threatening.

Kill dwarves for frost giant faction. Kill dragons for storm giant faction.

Claws of Veeshan

Start at bottom of Threatening.

Kill storm giants (the clean-shaven ones).

Snowfang Gnolls

Start at Indifferent.

Kill walruses (Ulthork).

Otters and Walruses, Eternal Enemies

To raise one, kill the other. The otters are cuter and sell baking supplies and give cool rewards to quests. There is no benefit to being friends with walruses.
