---|---|---|---|---|
Azia | Erud's Crossing | -1160, 2340 | Underwater on the ocean floor past the sunken boat with the zombie sailors. | Yes |
Beza | Everfrost Peaks | 5000, -5100 | Floor of the house in the back of the hidden cave entered through the frozen river. The house is located in the northeast portion of the caves. Three ice boned skeletons spawn inside. Enter the river through the closest hole and swim up against the ice to breathe. Beware the Lich of Miragul wandering the caves. It is high level, aggressive, and can See Invisible. | No |
Ena | Lower Guk | On the floor of the reanimated hand room. Most players will need a group for this one, though if they know the path extremely well it is possible to sprint there after another player casts both Invisibility and Invisibility versus Undead on them. Spirit of Wolf is recommended for this approach. | No |

34 | 44 | Firiona Via | Pirates/Drolvargs | You want to be fighting on the "Ledge" in FV.
http://wiki.project1999.com/File:Map_firionavie.jpg If you look at "A" (Or Swamp of No Hope zone-line) on the map and draw a line straight down to the coast, that's where you should be fighting. You'll know you're in the right spot if you see Tracker Azeal kneeling near a boulder at night, and probably a few corpses too. Set up shop somewhere along the ledge, making sure you pull mobs at least Azeal-distance to the ledge. It's somewhat common for a roaming froglok shaman or goblin caster to speed by that will hurt if aggro'd. I think its said a few times in this thread, but if you're solo exping you always* want to break charm and kill both mobs for Exp. I usually have them wail on one another until 4-5% then break, which will let a single Choke kill most of them. You want to be hunting Pirates, Pirate Destroyers, Pirate Cartographers, and Drolvarg Snarlers, Growlers and Savages. They range from 26 (Pirate Cartographer) through 36 (Pirate Destroyer). Drolvargs have much more HP than Pirates, but average higher level than most Pirates. I would sometimes need two pirates per drolvarg. Pirates usually have NoDrop Fine Steel Rapiers, but also carry racial meat/blood and normal Fine Steel weapons. Drolvargs drop canines and Rusty weapons. Duoing with a Druid or Necro will be quicker and less downtime (from little to none). While normal Pirates seem to be either warrior or rogue, Pirate Cartographers are Always rogues and backstab for (If I remember correctly) ~170dmg. Give one a torch and you have a pretty good blender to follow your aggro-kiting partner around. |
38 | 42 | Overthere | Everything | |
42 | 46 | Dreadlands | Yeti Cave | |
42 | 46 | Oggok | Bouncers | |
42 | 52 | Dreadlands | Everything | Stick around KC entrance for escape |
44 | 48 | City of Mist | Everything | Stick to the entrance. |
44 | 55 | Highpass Keep | Nobles/Bards | The double noble spawn is perfect for charm killing and is a short respawn. You also get 2x level 40 bard spawns every 2.5 noble spawns. Basically, open with pacify on one noble-> mez the other -> tash the mezzed noble -> root the mezzed noble -> charm the mezzed noble -> mez the non-pet noble -> tash the non-pet noble -> root the non-pet noble -> pet attack the non-pet noble. Then, regulate the fight (nobles can be 39-44 iirc) so HPs match via low level slow if needed. At 10% on each, break charm and blow em both up. With the pre-root strategy, there's basically little risk of death. If for some reason, everything breaks at once, you can run to the hallway and get off an AOE mez as they take a long pathing route to you. Same deal with bards. |
46 | 52 | Kedge Keep | Everything | |
50 | 55 | The Hole | Elementals | +Loam drops |
50 | 56 | City of Mist | Everything | |
53+ | Howling Stones | Everything |

[edit] Leveling mess to clean up
I did like 44-51 in Grobb. It's an amazing place, assuming nothing has changed. You never become KoS with troll illusion for some reason, just dubious at worst, plus you can vendor and bank there. The guards each drop a sword, shield and necklace that can be sold for a total of like 12p, plus a bit of cash loot, and you never have to miss out on any because you can sell+bank every 15 minutes if you want. There's enough guards to perfectly match a cycle of clearing them out over and over. A few guards are tougher than the rest and hit for like 190, twice as many HP, but the same level and crappy low resists as the rest of the guard. They seriously seem to have 0 resists, I didn't get a single resist the entire time I was there. That seemed like a bug, so there's always that. Anyway, I made something like 7k leveling from 44 to 51, and I think I died only once due to carelessly letting myself getting encumbered and subsequently having an unlucky charm break. Get used to the pathing patterns, figure out which are the uberguards - there's about three of them, plus one in the bar that's not worth touching, it's level 50 or something and nearly immune to magic. One paths around down by the shadowknight place and stops near the bridge (Basher Wisthak?), one goes from the shaman guild to the middle area with the vendors (Basher Kigak) and one spawns up on the ledge near the open area by the warrior guild (Basher Ganbaku maybe? Not sure now). The XP is incredible because you're non-stop killing and a charmed uberguard will take out 4-5 regular ones or so. You can then zone out to let it heal to full or, as I did, just kill it and go charm the next uberguard. Only guards will assist, none of the vendors or guildmasters should interfere as long as you keep troll illusion up. Remember there's a few guards in out of the way spots like the froglok prison tunnels near the herbalist vendors, one on top of that little weapon/armor mall in the middle of town, two in the bank, and one in the shadowknight guild at the end of the first tunnel. You can also kill Carver Cagrek or whatever (by the butcher thingy outside the bank). He has the HP of an uberguard and the damage of a normal guard, doesn't drop as good loot, and is only worth killing if you ran out of regular guards. Towards the end I was clearing out every guard in the zone, making a level every 2-3 hours all the way up to 51. The hellish level 45 took an afternoon.
Gobbos in LOIO 44-52. I didn't really start charming to level until then - i much prefer charming in group and having conversation than being by myself.
They're on a really short timer, and there is 4 near the entrance to whatever that zone in the middle of the lake is. Killing those 4 is easy. By 51 you should be killing 8 of them on timer and outleveling everyone.
14 - 24 east karana 24 - 40 high keep hold guards 40 - 50 city of mist ... good for all.. shhhh
In NeriakB there is a level 35 warrior guildmaster that hits for 190 per pop, guildmasters are also coded to accept and equip items you give them, but return the item after doing so. Charm the guildmaster (in the duel pits of the warrior guild) give it a haste item and some nasty proccing weps, also you can deck it out with gear, even your own gear if you want.
Keep in mind I did this before the nerf to whirl till you hurl, Quadding and hasted the mob will kill the level 40 guards in neriak in a few seconds, in particular there are 2 casters types on a 5 minutes respawn, you can usually kill both of these, and 2-3 guards in a matter of 5 minutes. Then zone out, med for 30 seconds, and go recharm the mob (it will be full health again and fully geared still as ar esult of clearing agro.
I went from level 40-50 in a few days doing this, a few hours a day.
Another thing to note about charm is that caster mobs will duel wield and do more dps than warrior type mobs. The dps is noticably higher on Shaman and wizard type mobs. I believe that in an effort to balance they simply lowered the duel wield skill of all warrior type mobs and excluded the other classes.
When duoing with a healer, a nice way to play is to duel the druid/shaman/cleric so they have access to root your pet. When fighting a mob you can have the person "level out" the hitpoints of both mobs so that as the one that isn't charmed dies your own pet only requires one nuke to finish off. Dueling also allows your partner to kill your pet seamlessly. I did leveling with a shaman for awhile and as my pet beat down a mob, if it was winning, he would just sick his wolf on my rooted charm to even things out. It also allows for very easy snare/malo casting.
I leveled in Halas awhile, the warrior guildleaders there have 32,000 hitpoints and melee's for 197 near the arena. whereas the other guildleaders have normal level 50 mob amount, 8-10k. Using the same strat as I outlined with the neriak guild leader you could equip the npc fully and easily kill a cycle of level 50 guildleaders, I believe there were 5 that were single pull all on a 5 minute spawn timer. The halas guards are on a 27 minute timer? maybe less. and will give exp until 60.
NerakA, in the troll area, there are 7 trolls there ranging from level 41, 44, 46,47,48,50,50 (a close guess). Very nice spot to duo with a healer type as neriak has a high exp modifier.
Notable charms: Death beetle in SolB, procs a 2 minute, 50 damage per tick DoT. (low MR)
Ak'Anon - Very fun area to raid with a healer buddy, very easy pulls and guard mobs range from level 33-40, about 10-12 pulls.
KaladimA - it may not still work, but before the charm nerf I used to trip with Chanter/Chanter/Cleric, we would charm level 49/50 mobs from the king area. It was very easy to single pull 3 level 61 guildleaders over by the arena. These mobs had about 20k HPs and would get destroyed by the 2 charms, requiring about 1 Cheal per fight. As long as both charms did not break similtaniously, the mob stayed agroed on the current charm. Chain killing level 61 mobs in a high exp mod zone is VERY good exp.
Guild leaders in Neriakb and Halas.
Kizdin Gix - level 50 skeleton mob in Burning wood. When charmed and hasted he can easily kill almost nonstop in a very easy to kite area for 10-15 mobs before running low on health. I used mem blur to heal him up when he got low.
"a guard" in Highhold keep hits for 150+ at levels 25-35, I never charmed these though.
-Always carry Rusted Shoulderpads from blackburrow for an additional -10 magic reduction.
-Always go for the charm on Caster types if you are looking to maximize the dps the mob does, mostly for group settings.

[edit] Forum Mess to Clean up
Resist gear you need Fire and Magic, stepping out in the hall to tash a wurm in HoT will really burn, also fights like Klandicar, Zlandicar and Sontolak resisting the magic based fear is important if you're good enough to hang around during the fight....
Wort Potions at least 2, these potions are super important for keeping yourself alive during fights or soloing mobs like verina tomb. Sometimes you will have to eat some AE even as an enchanter. Your guild will recharge these if you use them during a fight don't use all 10 charges!
If your fire resist and magic resist aren't maxed you should get some fire and mr pots your guild won't be willing to recharge these but they are cheap
shrink pots are alright if you don't want to use gnome illusion...guild won't recharge these either
reaper of the dead for clicky CH sometimes after you have debuffed all you have to do is sit and watch the tank, and if he drops to like 5% blow a reaper charge on him to make sure he stays alive, guilds recharge this item
Wand of allure cheap item from plane of fear, useful for soloing at the end where pets will eat you alive. Sometimes you need to use these charges on a raid to keep charmed pet from messing you up (have had to do this plane of growth)...guild will recharge this item since it is surprising cheap to recharge but the dream is to have puppet strings those 10 charges go a long way, almost impossible to fail soloing a mob like verina tomb if you have the strings heh
Leatherfoot Raider's Skullcap Instant port to WC for hate raids or meeting up with a druid if no one is available to port you to raid from where you are at...super cheap to recharge
5-6 Bag of the tinkerers / 0-1 large soiled bag you're going to be carrying 7 bags full worth of stuff as a raider at 60 and these bags will make sure you aren't ever encumbered
Worker Sledgemallet Not as important in Velious but the ability to get to Kunark quickly or meetup at a common spot where everyone else can gate to as well is important
Enchanter Epic sometimes you are the only enchanter and lom and all of a sudden 10 melee need haste.... plus visions of grandeur has a few seconds cool down, so being able to give people a decent haste for 0 mana is important...also good for hasting pets
I'm probably forgetting a bunch of stuff ....soloing 56-59 at howling stones entrance as an enchanter is what I did , good luck....also, don't go to the Hole, keep your faction until you get the epic piece from there at least....I ended up being able to solo the ghost of kindle because I had never screwed up my hole faction (illusion earth elemental + collaboration = non-kos)
enchanter fire resist gear:
Shiny Robe of the Underfoot
Insignia Protector
Drakescale Belt
Wurmscale Coat
Velium Diamond Wedding Ring
Velium Blue Diamond Bracelets
Golden Blue Diamond Pendant
Golden Diamond Mask
Blue Diamond Electrum Earring
(if you don't have HoT gear yet Insidious sleeves are good in arm slot for fire, if you happen to go by hate (this stuff still drops right haha))
Note: Illusion Dry Bone is like +45 FR
Enchanter magic resist gear:
earring of essence
White gold necklace
Velium Jacinth Wedding ring
etc tired of typing from memory a lot of the stuff from the fire list will also be used as magic gear and you have two MR self buffs at 60 , Group Resist
Magic and Shield of the Magi
[edit] Solo Artist Challenge
Rules
So I was inspired by Ploktor's thread to revive something I used to have on the Vesica Dei message boards, the solo artists challenge (originally I called it 'The Real Enchanter Epic'). I have compiled a list of all the 50+ named mobs in the game which I think could potentially be soloable or duoable, ranked them in order, and sorted them into six tiers. The ranking includes both the difficulty of the named mob itself and an adjustment for the number of guards, which is why Howling Stones is so much harder than Sebilis.
The categories, in descending order of awesomeness:
[S] -> Soloed with self buffs only
[S-] -> Soloed but used strong item clickies
[S*] -> Soloed without pull (or invis pulled)
[S*-] -> Soloed without pull and used strong item clickies
[D] -> Duoed
[D-] -> Duoed but used strong item clickies
[D*] -> Duoed without pull (or invis pulled)
[D*-] -> Duoed without pull and used strong item clickies
[T] -> Trioed
Strong item clickies include Puppet Strings, Donal's Breastplate of Mourning, Manastone, Soulfire, Reaper of the Dead, Woolly Spider Silk Nets, etc, but not shaman potions or stuff like a Shrunken Goblin Skull Earring. Use your judgement, and remember: solo is solo for the purposes of ranks, no matter what you items you use. Pull help is meant to compensate for removal of invis pulls; it doesn't seem fair to penalize people who started on the challenge afterwards. Pull help is only available for Solo God/Duo GM ranks and up, mainly because many of those would be obviously impossible otherwise. Use common sense regarding the amount of help you can get from other players and still consider it a solo kill. In general the idea is that you could zone in and kill the mob on your own. Outside buffs are not permitted for casters; melee can get as many buffs as they like as they are already at a considerable disadvantage. Any kill, even the lowly S*-, will count towards a rank.

To complete a rank, you must kill 50% of the named on that rank, and that 50% must include names from all major areas (i.e. soloing the Sebilis Crypt itself does not make you a Solo Master, you have to do HS South too). Completion of prior ranks is not required. Solo kills will result in the title of of 'Solo Disciple/Master/Grandmaster'; likewise with duos. Killing everything on the list from Grandmaster on down will result in the title of 'Legend'. Achieving a solo rank implies the previous duo rank, since they are the same mobs (a Solo Master is automatically a Duo Disciple, since they could achieve the same results while powerleveling some noob).
Artists will be sorted by maximum solo/duo score, secondary solo/duo score, and time of achievement. I am also making a list of the first few kills of god-tier mobs by player name because I expect a few kills here and there but I doubt anyone can actually achieve God rank. If you feel like you have met the requirements for a rank or you have killed a god-tier mob, PM me or message me in game (Loraen/Sakuragi/Dramor) and I'll add you to the list at the top of the post. Screenshots are not required (we are on the honor system here, and its hard to think about taking pictures when some high level mob is beating on you for 200 a pop) but highly encouraged; it's always cool to read field reports of epic fights.
I think this is a pretty hard challenge, and even obtaining 'Disciple' rank probably puts you in the top 10% of skilled players on this server. Even if you are skilled, the logistics of popping all the named (especially in HS East) can be very obnoxious. Obtaining Legend rank is going to be way harder than getting an epic. If the sheet looks intimidating, feel free to just fill out the stuff you've killed, or just fill out Disciple rank at first, and then progress from there. I know that for me personally when I first started in Charasis I got my butt kicked in HS north; I gradually improved and now even South isn't too hard for me.
