Information

Note: It is not necessary to train this skill at a guildmaster in order to level it.

Beg an NPC for some money!

  • Has an ~8 second cooldown.
  • You can beg from any monster or NPC and still receive coin.
This includes any faction. An NPC can be scowling to you and you'll still level up your skill AND get successful begs.
  • A failed attempt at begging may result in the NPC or monster attacking you.
  • It is possible to beg platinum pieces no matter your skill level.
The amount of money that you get seems to be based on the level on the NPC that you are begging from. A given level range on average will give you an average range of coin, while very rarely giving you much more coin (2-3 times the average you would normally receive). An example would be a level 1-9 giving you 1-9 copper, while very rarely giving you up to 2 silver.
  • A great way to skill begging is to beg from a monster you are going to kill anyways then attack.
  • The "hit rate" is absurdly low. Plan on 1 successful 'beg' (in that you actually get coin) per about every 10 skillups. Which is also slow. As of 15JUN2018, successful begs are a lot more common. In addition, the rate of leveling seems equal to a skill like Foraging.
  • You need to be QUITE CLOSE to your mark to attempt. If you are not close enough, you don't beg, and the cooldown timer still activates.

A successful beg will result in the monster or NPC saying:

"Here [PC] take this and LEAVE ME ALONE!"
You have begged [amount of money].

A critical begging failure will result in the monster or NPC saying one of the following dialogues and attacking you:

"You have the audacity to beg from me??!"
"I Despise beggars, they are not fit to live."
