You say, 'I want the Shackle of Rock.'

Talon Southpaw Talon Southpaw was the fastest pugilist ever to walk within the Court of Pain. His speed rivaled that of the great Grandmaster Tynn. He could often be found within the local taverns demonstrating the awesome speed of his left fist. Talon Southpaw came to rebirth within this caste. Although quick with fist and tail, the speed of his left arm was not to come to blossom for a couple of decades past his rebirth. It was to follow his captivity by the accursed sarnak. Soon after fulfilling the Rung of Tynn, Talon went on a wandering retreat into the dangerous outlands of Kunark. He was not heard from for a total of 5 seasons. Upon his return to Cabilis he told of his captivity within an ancient city of the Iksar now claimed by the sarnak. He told of intense torture. He survived the ordeal. He escaped from the claws of the sarnak with numerous scars which proved his painful ordeal. Most of the worst scars were never seen. Talon wore a robe which he never removed. The scars underneath were for no lizard's eyes. His great perseverance gave him an inner strength no other monk could lay claim to. He now possessed incredible, almost blinding speed with his left arm. He could trap a foe's arm with his left and strike with it as if he had a third arm! He was indeed a paragon of the Swifttails. All in the empire either respected or feared him. None would spar him outside of the taverns. With grog comes stupidity. Upon his death in Kurn, Grandmaster Tynn removed his hands in a private ceremony. Only Tynn was allowed to gaze upon Talon's body. The fists were then sealed in a canopic which would stay within the Tower of Kurn. His body was dusted. This is his tale as told by Rinmark. Rewards
Necromancer 1st RankAsk Master Xydoz in the Tower of Death about the Apprentice Skullcap. He wants you to prove yourself by bringing him four Sarnak Hatchling Brain and he will reward you with Apprentice Skullcap - 1st Rank. A Sarnak Hatchling is found in the Lake of Ill Omen near the entrance to West Cabilis. The hatchlings also drop Torn Tapestry, and Ripped Tapestry, save these for the second skullcap. Necromancer 2nd RankTalk to Master Xydoz again and ask him about the Second Rank Skullcap. He tells you he wants a Mended Tapestry. You need to acquire two pieces of the now-destroyed tapestry and repair them. The pieces are Torn Tapestry and Ripped Tapestry, which you find off of A Sarnak Hatchling in the Lake of Ill Omen. Tailor the two pieces together (the result is a Mended Tapestry, not a faded one, and EQTraders lists the trivial for this at 23) and hand them in along with yourApprentice Skullcap - 1st Rank for your Apprentice Skullcap - 1st Rank LORE ITEM NO DROP Apprentice Skullcap - 2nd Rank .(Hint: Klok Sargin in Lake of Ill Omen usually has both components for sale).
Apprentice Skullcap - 2nd Rank LORE ITEM NO DROP Necromancer 3rd RankTalk to Master Rixiz and ask about the Third Rank Skullcap. He tells you he wants the brain of a Sarnak Crypt Raider and hands you a glass canopic. In this you must place the brain of a Sarnak Crypt Raider and embalming fluid. This quest is going to take a little Smithing and Brewing to complete.

Kill everything around the tower area and the Sarnak Crypt Raider will eventually spawn. You may find it safer to stick close to the shore of the lake, as you will likely get lots of wandering enemies as you fight things here. Place both of these items in the canopic and hit combine. Head back to Master Rixiz and turn in the combined canopic (no longer a container) and your Apprentice Skullcap - 2nd Rank for your new Apprentice Skullcap - 3rd Rank. Necromancer 4th RankTalk to Master Kyvix next. He tells you he needs some new components. These are a creeper cabbage, a heartsting telson with venom, brutling choppers and a scalebone femur. He then hands you a Brood Sack and sends you on your way.
Combine all 4 of these in your Brood Sack and head back to Master Kyvix and hand in the combined result with your Apprentice Skullcap - 3rd Rank for your Dark Binder Skullcap. Note: the xp reward was about 2 blues at level 20. Necromancer 5th RankAfter you complete the fourth rank quest, Master Kyvix says something about the "true mission". When asked about this "true mission," he gives you a Spectacle and sends you to see someone named Ryx. Ryx is in the Overthere at the Dark Elf Outpost. Bind yourself outside the Outpost if you feel you are in danger of dying during the hand-ins! (It's less annoying to rebind than it is to do a CR back to Overthere). Ryx is disguised as a skeleton worker on top of the westernmost boat (aka hammer hill) and cons indifferent. Levitate from the hillside into the boat to get up to him. Place yourself north-west of him to be as far away from the Skeletons who are on the ground. He doesn't reply anything to hails. Give him the spectacle first and he will say: "I live to study and quench my thirst. I live to bash the faces of the Pariah and entangle myself in the ivy of evergreen. I live. I want to remember." This translates into the following four items:
Give him the remaining 3 items. Once he has all these four items he gives you a metal key. Give the Metal Key to Tin Banker Assistant at the Overthere outpost. You have to wait till (Evening, Nighttime) the General who is in the bank leaves to check up on his troops. You have to be at least level 20** to finish this part. Giving the key to the banker will get you a tome (A Journal), 6 gold, 6 silver and 6 copper. Give the tome (A Journal) together with your 4th level "Dark Binder Skullcap" to Master Kyvix to receive the Occultist Skullcap, 5 gold pieces and 3 blues of experience @ level 20. - ** Was able to complete turn in to Tin Banker Assistant @ lvl 16 on BLUE @ 12-21-14. ** Necromancer 6th RankHigh amiable faction with Brood of Kotiz is required to complete this portion of the quest. Master Kyvix now wants you to track down an item called the Kor Sha Candlestick, which is in 2 pieces. He sends you to speak with Keeper Rott. The magic words are 'I am the chosen occultist'. Keeper Rott tells you he doesn't have the pieces but tells you where to find them...on Sarnak Revenants in the Lake of Ill Omen. Although Keeper Rott tells you that both pieces of the Candlestick can be found on A sarnak revenant, this quest has been reverted to it's original form and the Revenants will only drop the first piece. The revenants also drop a note which makes reference to the candlestick, and indicates where to look for the other half.
Head to Firiona Vie. In the North East corner roughly at location +4000, -2200. Head south and you'll see an open field with mainly Drolvargs and Frogloks moving about, this is the general area you want to be at. To your east you'll see a hill with a small Giant fort and to your west the zone just continues onward with more Drolvargs and Frogloks (with the occasional Drachnid) keep in mind to Con everything you see, as some Drolvargs can see right through your invis.
Once you've gotten that stein, head back to East Cabilis and go to #2 on the map, just directly south-west of the Shaman/Shadow Knight guild. One the top floor of that building you'll find an iksar named Grype, who only spawns at night. Grype responds to the question "what candlestick?" and will tell you about the swashbuckler when asked. Give him the stein and in exchange he'll give you: Foot of Candlestick (identifies as: Foot of a Kor Sha Candlestick). Take the pieces to Master Kyvix and hand them in along with your current Skullcap to receive your Revenant Skullcap. Necromancer 7th RankKindly faction with Brood of Kotiz is required to be able to receive the Unfinished Scepter from Harbringer Glosk. Being in Skeletal form boosts this faction. Time to talk to Harbinger Glosk. Hail him and say "I am the new revenant." He wants your help finishing a scepter for the Emperor. He hands you an Unfinished Scepter and tells you to find 4 gems and combine the gems and the scepter in the Forge of Dalnir. First the gems. The gems you want are:
After you have the gems, the next step is to find the Forge of Dalnir (aka the "Always Works" forge). The forge is located on the third level of Dalnir (#10 on the map). In order to be able to use the forge, you need the
Combine the scepter, gems and hammer in the forge to receive the Scepter of Emperor Vekin. Return this to Harbinger Glosk and receive your shiny new Sorcerer Skullcap. Necromancer 8th RankI got theYellow Whip on the west wall from a wulfware lonewolf. Seemed to path in like all the other Lycanthrope spawns. Posting in case we can ever do this quest.
A Yellow Whip LORE ITEM
 Note: Got theYellow Whip from a decaying skeleton in nektulos forest. (added on 11/10/2024 by aramisc)A Yellow Whip LORE ITEM N O T C L A S S I C !

It will never be possible to complete this stage of the quest on Project 1999, because the Flaxen Lock of Hair won't start dropping until well past the classic era. You can, however, tell an Iksar hermit in West Cab "I am a great sorcerer" for a free positive Brood of Kotiz faction boost. | ||||||||||||||
