Warning: Although this page has been well-researched, it is not 100% complete. It is believed to contain every player-castable spell in EverQuest, but is still missing many item-based buffs (see "To Dos" at the bottom of the page). Description

This page explains which "buffs" (ie. beneficial spell effects) contribute to each player statistic, how much, and which can be cast on the same character at once. Buffs, and their source spell(s) or item(s), are grouped first by statistic, then into buff lines, and finally by how much they buff. This amount is based on a maximum-level caster, so lower-level casters may give lower bonuses.

Each statistic also has a table showing how it can be maximally buffed.

All buffs go into the main buff window, including bard songs, which count towards 15 buff limit.

Details

Bard Songs

All Bard song effects except haste and mana regeneration are affected by instruments. To reflect this all Bard buffs have two bonuses listed: their base bonus and their bonus with a maximum (Puretone Discipline) instrument bonus of 28 or 280%. The latter is shown in parentheses, and is the number used for the maximum stat table.

Buff Stacking

Buffs under the same heading can't be stacked together. If a buff (except Focus of Spirit) combines multiple lines they will be listed below it in separate columns. The combination buffs won't stack with the buffs underneath, and those buffs will only stack with the other columns.

Item-Based Buffs

For potions only individual, not five or ten-dose versions, are shown. All item-based buffs specify their usage: "Click:", "Consumable:", "Proc:", or "Worn:". Items "cast" at different levels, so the same effect can buff different amounts. For instance, one potion gives 20% haste and another gives 40%, but both give Flurry, because each "casts" at a different effective level.

Not Included

Although illusions are buffs in a sense, they have their own page and so are only listed here if they also add to a stat.

Healing and direct mana recovery ("twitch") spells also aren't included here: they too "buff" in a sense, but don't add buff icons (someone could always make a page for them ... this is a wiki ...).

Finally, items from GM events are included, but are not included in the maximum tables (as the vast majority of players will never see these items).

Although this page is fairly comprehensive it is not yet complete.

  • Problem: Page is missing many items
    • Solution: someone could methodically click through each buff to see if it has any items which can cast it, and then add those items
    • Clickies likely has most if not all of of what we'd need, but to be truly thorough one would have to go through every player spell and every spell in Category:NPC_Only_Spells
  • Problem: Page is missing many +0 rows
    • a +0 row is when a buff prevents stacking with another buff even though it doesn't give the same stat
      • eg. although Fleeting Fury gives no HP regen, it doesn't stack with Dulsehound, which gives +6 HP regen ... because both give Strength in a way that doesn't stack ... but this results in a "+0 Fleeting Fury" row for HP regeneration
    • Solution: Someone needs to go through every buff line and look up one buff from that line on http://lucy.allakhazam.com/; the "Stacking" page (link in upper-right corner) will list all buffs that don't stack with that line, and any +0 rows can be found this way
    • ... or maybe that would be way too many unhelpful +0 lines? We need to figure out roughly how many exist and if there's too many maybe just delete the few we already have.
